I am the lead of a large neighborhood on nextdoor.com. i try to use my position to quietly educate using a "neighborly" persona and am well liked and respected.

So yesterday, Rush Limbaugh spoke about a graph he pulled from the CDC website that showed covid deaths sharply declining. I didn't bother to verify Rush as i simply believed him. On Nextdoor, I posted "I saw this graph on the CDC website which shows COVID deaths declining sharply. Such great news! Let's pray this continues!" along with an image of the graph (pic related). Somebody asked me for the CDC link as they doubted it came from there. (Rush did not provide sauce). i went to the CDC site to find it and it doesn't seem to exist! I also did a reverse google search and it only pulls up images copied from Rushlimbaugh.com. Ugh!!

I wonder what gives with this? Did the CDC take it down after Rush brought it into the sunlight? I don't think Rush was being dishonest…was he?

I actually organized my neighborhood on Nextdoor. I live in a red neighborhood in a red city in a red state - but of course there are blues here and they are the noisy/pushy/deranged ones. I like my position because I can just sit back and wait for them to break the rules with their political rants (they always do) and silently remove their posts. I feel like I'm doing my part in my own little way
