Can you name the differences between these two pictures?
Me personally I look at it this way.. he's already got his base. Yeah his base is going to be annoyed with this but he knows we literally have no choice but to stick with him. On the other hand, if he can win some normies over, that would do well for when he maybe eventually has to drop the hammer on people. Will seem way less political because he was willing to "see reason," even if it feels like to his base that he's cucking over an obvious lie. This is why I think it essential to trust the plan, because he literally has to cater to so many audiences that without trust it literally COULDN'T work. My take anyway

I don't think the usual "Trump opposites" is playing out this way. The press in the briefing room was treating it like Trump "finally came to his senses"
