XL =2p x f x L.

Where:

XL = inductive reactance measured in ohms

2 = a constant (2 x 3.1416 = 6.28)

f = the AC frequency of the electrical supply in hertz

L = the inductance value of the coil in henries.

For those that don't get EM theory:

2 Pi is the circumfrence of a circle.

All wave and EM is based on the circle and then the phase of the wave and strength of the wave and then the resistance to the movement around the unit circle.

Then add one field is elecrtric 90 degrees from magneticic and it is the interaction that creates all fields in 3D and the result is a vector field of force between them.

Therefore if the current is 90 degrees out of phase with voltage in 3D and 1.4 out of phase in 2D - does that mean the voltage is on the 90 degree magnetic field and related to the the influence of the magnetic field that causes the voltage - that would explain a lot.

Because if the influence of the magnetic field causes the voltage in the electrical field and then move one field or another a current will flow in one or other direction and that field will then create reactance to the primary electric and magnetic fuels I get !!!
