YES. Once they figured out how to scale globally, game on. I think that was the point of the dotcom boom – testbed.
I'm a nobody. But in time spent there, I was introduced to an I-Q-Tel dude to help with his pet project, and was once invited to the Bohemian Club (not the Grove, the related Club downtown). I reduced my income by half when I left. No regrets.
