Look, I think POTUS is in a tough spot. He is the law and order president. Mandated masks are not law, but he cannot go out and seem like he is for lawlessness. (ie fuck masks)
He has stressed the use of masks in the right places, where you cannot social distance, or in a hospital situation. (pro mask)
There is timing and other considerations that we are not privy to. I hate masks. I have not had to wear one. But I also understand that a time may come (getting must-have pharmaceuticals from gov PO) where I may have to bend my usual FU attitude into something more socially palatable to achieve an outcome that cannot be delayed.
POTUS has to get elected. There MUST be a way to vote. We are seeing those arrangements all being sorted out right now. Either we will vote in schools with masks on because they are 'unsafe', or the schools will have been proven to be one of the safer spaces and we will not have to wear masks when we vote. One way or another, POTUS will make sure we will be voting in schools and churches.
