A hoarding put up by Animal rights organisation – PETA with a photograph of a goat, urging people not to slaughter it, was removed in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh after Islamic clerics objected to such hoardings.
According to the reports, the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animal (PETA) had put up a hoarding in Qaiserbagh, which displayed a huge picture of a goat and read – “Mai Jeev Hoon, Maans Nahi. Hamare Prati Nazariya Badlen, Vegan Bane” (I am a living being and not just meat. Change your view towards us and become a vegan).
As posters were put up by PETA across other parts of the city, Islamic clerics in the city claimed that such posters hurt their religious sentiments.

Chinese Nationals Caught Burning Documents Shortly After US Orders China Consulate in Houston Closed Due to Espionage and Theft
Individuals in the China Consulate in Houston were filmed burning documents after being ordered shut down by the US government for accused efforts of espionage taking place there.
The Chicago Tribune reported this morning:
The United States said Wednesday that it has ordered China to close its consulate in Houston “to protect American intellectual property” and the private information of Americans.
China strongly condemned the move, the latest in a series of steps by the Trump administration as it ratchets up pressure on the world’s second-largest economy over trade, technology, human rights and security.

NY police rake in armored trucks, rifles from military
Batavia, a small city between Buffalo and Rochester, is home to 14,000 people, five square miles — and one 14-ton truck built to withstand IED blasts and other wartime attacks.
The village of Albion — population 6,000, 17 miles north of Batavia — has an ambush-protected military truck, too. So does Jefferson County in the North Country, Madison County in central New York and a handful of spots in the Hudson Valley.
In the last seven years, two dozen New York police departments big and small have acquired Mine-Resistant Ambush Protected vehicles (or MRAPs), armored utility trucks that were originally built to protect soldiers from explosions in war zones across the globe.
The vehicles, each originally purchased for upwards of $859,000, are provided to local police departments free of charge by the U.S. military under what’s known as the 1033 program, which allows the Department of Defense to disperse surplus vehicles, aircraft, equipment and supplies to local or state police agencies.
Police across the state and nation say the program has helped provide them with useful tools they never would have been able to find room in the budget for otherwise
