1/ What's amazing to me - as I read papers written in the 2000s about how to face flu epidemics (Part 2 of Unreported Truths, coming soon!) is that the best researchers KNEW they couldn't depend on models. And they KNEW the risk of panic and overreaction was real…

 

I mean, they WARNED about it. Here's @theNASEM

in 2006: "There is a real risk that in the midst of a crisis, there will be pressure for government to employ public health interventions, even in the absence of proven

benefits…"

 

But when the shit hit the fan… the shit hit the fan. All that work went out the window. 100 stories up.

 

Worse, it's still falling, even though we now KNOW #SARSCoV2 is far less serious than the Spanish flu-type epidemics for which lockdowns were even considered.
