France Tells Telecom Operators Licences for Huawei 5G Gear Will Not Be Renewed, Reports Say

European nations, France included, have been pressed by the United States to ban Huawei from building their 5G networks. Washington has claimed Beijing uses the firm's equipment for spying. China has repeatedly denied the accusations.

French authorities will be unable to renew licences for Huawei's equipment after their expiry, which will pave the way for the Chinese tech giant to be phased out of French 5G networks by 2028, Reuters reported citing three sources familiar with the matter.

According to the report, the government notified firms planning to acquire Huawei 5G gear about the non-renewable licences. The sources said that the majority of licences for Huawei spanned from three to five years, while its European competitors, namely Nokia and Ericsson, were granted eight-year authorisations.

France's cybersecurity agency ANSSI previously said it would authorise operators to use 5G equipment for three to eight years. However, the agency called on tech firms not currently using Huawei's gear to avoid acquiring it.

Huawei's Future in Europe

The reports come amid the uncertainty over Huawei's 5G rollout in Europe, which stems from reports of security risks that the Chinese tech firm's equipment allegedly poses. According to a report by the Financial Times in January, the EU is looking to limit Huawei’s access to 5G networks across the bloc due to security concerns.

The United States has repeatedly accused Huawei of its alleged ties to the Chinese government and proceeded to slap sanctions on the firm.

Most recently, the UK made a U-turn on Huawei, moving to restrict its access to 5G networks due to national security concerns and political pressure from the United States.

Both China and Huawei vehemently denied the accusations, calling them unjustified, politically motivated and violating competitive practices.

Rep. Devin Nunes Agrees – Corrupt Deep State Actors at the Brookings Institute Should be Investigated for Efforts Related to the Russia Collusion and Shiff Sham Frauds

The far-left Brookings Institute and its leadership are key players in the Russia fraud. In the past couple days we reported on more connections between the Deep State and this “Institute’. Today Representative Devin Nunes echoed our concerns.

A couple of days ago we reported that the key player in the Steele dossier, the individual who Steele reportedly received his information from, the Primary Sub-Source (PSS) was identified. His name is Igor Danchenko. His tales were used as source material for the FBI to obtain a warrant to spy on Carter Page and candidate and President Trump.

Then yesterday we reported that Fiona Hill, the star witness for Democrat Representative Adam Schiff’s impeachment show trial, and the BFF of the Steele dossier’s PSS, is a colleague of Danchenko’s who presented with Danchenko at a Brookings Institute event.

The connection to Fiona Hill is huge because it shows that Adam Schiff’s disgusting unconstitutional impeachment proceeding with his star witness, Fiona Hill, is a closely connected to the Russian scandal and the PSS. No wonder the Deep State kept Danchenko’s name hidden.

In November we reported that former National Security Council member Fiona Hill called the investigations into Ukrainian interference in the 2016 elections “a fictional narrative”. But the fact that Ukrainians like MP Serhiy Leschenko and Ukrainian-American DNC operative Alexandra Chalupa sought to influence the 2016 elections is well-documented by reporting by John Solomon, Politico and even a Ukrainian court verdict. The Gateway Pundit unveiled the connection to George Soros’ Open Society and the Democratic National Committee in April. Naturally, neither The Guardian nor Fiona Hill offered any evidence for their claims.

In 2017 we reported that the Brookings Institution, which owns just about half-a-billion dollars and deep connections to numerous left-wing political figures, is disseminating their leftist agenda while using taxpayer money.

It’s time to investigate and indict the anti-American coup leading Brookings Institute for its efforts to overthrow the Trump Administration over the past four year. Americans want justice.

Philly DA Says He'll Prosecute Trump 'Stormtroopers' Sent To Control BLM Chaos

Philadelphia's top prosecutor says he's ready to 'fight fascism' and will take legal action against federal law enforcement officers sent to enforce the law as BLM protests continue to rage across the city.

"My dad volunteered and served in World War II to fight fascism, like most of my uncles, so we would not have an American president brutalizing and kidnapping Americans for exercising their constitutional rights and trying to make America a better place, which is what patriots do," Philadelphia DA Larry Krasner told Bloomberg CityLab in an interview published Wednesday.

"Anyone, including federal law enforcement, who unlawfully assaults and kidnaps people will face criminal charges from my office," he added.

President Trump suggested this week that he would deploy federal agents in New York, Chicago, Philadelphia, Detroit, Baltimore and Milwaukee after Homeland Security officers were deployed to Portland, Oregon - where they came under fire for grabbing protesters off the street and detaining them in what Trump described as a "fantastic job."

Trump says the troops are necessary to maintain order and protect federal property, in what Elizabeth Goitein of the Brennan Center for Justice said was a pretext to have federal agents supplant local police.

More from Bloomberg CityLab's interview with Krasner (emphasis ours):

Have you received official confirmation from the Trump administration that it is in fact deploying federal officers in Philadelphia?

Nope. We have not.

What is your understanding of the legality of the Trump administration deploying officers in any city in this context?

There are certain areas of shared jurisdiction between federal and local authorities, and frankly, there's a frequent collaboration between federal and local law enforcement on certain types of cases. Often it's cases involving drugs and guns or explosives, for example. So there's nothing unusual about feds being involved in law enforcement in the city. And there's nothing unusual about collaborations between local and federal authorities. They're going on right now in my office.

What's unusual here is the fluffy rhetoric about taking over cities. What's unusual is the politicization of a normal relationship between federal law enforcement and local law enforcement. And what is really unusual is the apparently illegal Stormtrooper tactics that have been used by federal law enforcement in Portland.

It is not OK to fracture skulls with what they like to call non-lethal rubber bullets or tear gas canisters. It is not OK when there is no probable cause to jump out of a rental van and just requisition people off the street. That looks like a dictatorship. That looks like a kidnapping. That looks like a crime. So there's nothing unusual about federal law enforcement doing law enforcement work, where it may follow the law and where they have jurisdiction to do so. That's not what we're dealing with here, though. We're dealing with a shiny object that the president is waving around to distract from his outrageous failures in many other areas. And to try to use his usual tactics of neo-fascist division, hate, and racism to improve his almost deceased campaign.

So you are prepared to prosecute federal law enforcement officials if they do in Philadelphia what they are doing in Portland?

If we have clear probable cause for the commission of crimes, by anyone, including law enforcement, including federal law enforcement, we will prosecute that. We're not going to tolerate any kidnappings and assaults going on in Philadelphia streets. We're not going to tolerate showing up under the guise of making things safer and [instead] causing violence.

Kim Kardashian breaks silence on husband Kanye West's 'mental health' in revealing statement — then immediately deletes it

The equivalent of talking about someone as if they're not in the room

Reality star Kim Kardashian issued a lengthy statement Wednesday about the mental health of her husband, rapper Kanye West.

West has been making headlines over the last several days following the release of several bombshell accusations against Kardashian and her family.

Kardashian apparently deleted the lengthy remarks less than an hour after issuing them on Twitter.

Kardashian reminded her 65 million Twitter followers of her husband's bipolar disorder diagnosis.

West himself revealed the diagnosis during a 2019 discussion with David Letterman.

In a series of tweets, Kardashian wrote, "As many of you know, Kanye has bipolar disorder. Anyone who has this or has a loved one in their life who does, knows how incredibly complicated and painful it is to understand.

"I've never spoken publicly about how this has affected us at home because I am very protective of our children and Kanye's right to privacy when it comes to his health," she continued. "But today, I feel like I should comment on it because of the stigma and misconceptions about mental health."

During a Sunday rally in Charleston, South Carolina, West revealed that the couple previously considered aborting their first child, North West. Reports alleged Kardashian and her family were horrified by West's revelation, and West himself said that Kardashian attempted to involuntarily hospitalize the rapper.

On Twitter, Kardashian explained that she and her family have been "powerless" to help the rapper, suggesting he does not want to be helped at this point.

"Those that understand mental illness or even compulsive behavior know that the family is powerless unless the member is a minor," the reality star explained. "People who are unaware or far removed from this experience can be judgmental and not understand that the individual themselves have to engage in the process of getting help no matter how hard family and friends try."

Kardashian continued, asking social media users for their understanding and reminding them of West's dynamic personality and career.

"I understand Kanye is subject to criticism because he is a public figure and his actions at times can cause strong opinions and emotions," she continued,

"He is a brilliant but complicated person who on top of the pressures of being an artist and a black man who experienced the painful loss of his mother, has to deal with the pressure and isolation that is heightened by his bipolar disorder," she wrote.

Kardashian pointed out that West sometimes doesn't mean a lot of the things he says due to his bipolar disorder diagnosis.

"Those who are close with Kanye know his heart and understand his words some times do not align with his intentions," she insisted. "Living with bipolar disorder does not diminish or invalidate his dreams and his creative ideas, no matter how big or unobtainable they may feel to some. That is part of his genius and as we have all witnessed, many of his big dreams have come true."

Kardashian, instead, requested grace and understanding for West as she and her family try to navigate the media onslaught.

"We as a society talk about giving grace to the issue of mental health as a whole, however we should also give it to the individuals who are living with it in times when they need it the most," she continued.

"I kindly ask that the media and public give us the compassion and empathy that is needed so that we can get through this. Thank you for those who have expressed concern for Kanye's well being and for your understanding," she concluded. "With Love and Gratitude, Kim Kardashian West."

Deutsche Bank's Top Credit Strategist Makes Stunning Admission: "I Am A Gold Bug; Fiat Money Is A Passing Fad In The History Of Money"

As covered here repeatedly over the past 24 hours, gold and silver (and oil) had a great day yesterday, with the rally continuing on Wednesday, sending silver nearly 100% higher than its March lows.

Furthermore, as DB's Jim Reid notes, on a YTD basis, Gold (+21.4%) and Silver (+19.3%) have had standout moves compared with global risk - which as a reminder is what central banks are doing everything they can to prop up - even if WTI (-26.1%) is down.

What followed next was shocking as it came from the mouth of a respected legacy banker and not some tinfoil conspiracy theorist: admitting that he is "a gold bug", Reid says that in his opinion, "fiat money will be a passing fad in the long-term history of money", a shocking admission for most financial professionals who are expected who are expected to tow the Keynesian line and also believe in the primary of fiat and its reserve currency, the US Dollar.

That said, he also concedes that in his long-term work "I’ve always found many commodities difficult to recommend on a buy and hold basis as most underperform inflation over the long run - probably as they are mostly used in production and alternatives are found if too expensive. We also become more efficient at using them."

All… except gold:

Indeed, between 1860 and 1971 (move from a gold-based system to fiat money), Reid notes that the real price of Gold fell by 75% and over 80% for Oil and Silver. Since then, while oil and silver have only doubled in real terms and are still less than half their 1860 values, Gold is up 7 times, double its 1860s real level.

Some context: since 1971, the S&P 500 is up 22 times in real total return terms and 40,000 times since 1860, but one has to remember that whereas equities are actively pumped up by central banks, gold has been repeatedly hammered by monetary authorites, so its performance is nothing short of remarkable having had to "fight the Fed" for near 40 years.

Reid's conclusion: "Gold is definitely a fiat money hedge" and not only that, but more importantly a transitionary asset to whatever monetary system is next.

Scott Morrison to reveal Australia’s biggest deficit since World War II

Scott Morrison was meant to unveil Australia’s long-awaited surplus this year. Instead the PM will confirm the biggest deficit in decades.

Australia’s budget deficit will hit the $100 billion mark next year, the biggest blowout since the Second World War, as pandemic lockdowns deliver a once in a century hit to tax revenues.

News.com.au has confirmed that the budget deficit to be unveiled on Wednesday by Treasurer Josh Frydenberg will come in under the $100 billion mark for the 2019-20 financial year.

It’s a stunning turnaround from the return to surplus this financial year that the Morrison Government had forecast in the December budget update last year.

The Department of Finance confirmed in April that the budget deficit had already blown out to $40 billion as the Morrison Government rolled out JobKeeper and other payments.

But the ‘eye-watering’ deficit is expected to be over $100 billion in 2020-21, with the final figure to be unveiled by Mr Frydenberg in Canberra today.

Deloitte Access Economics’ Chris Richardson has previously predicted the 2020-21 budget deficit could blowout to $200 billion.

As Australia recorded its highest ever daily tally of COVID-19 cases on Wednesday, news.com.au has confirmed the Morrison Government will reveal tax revenues have taken a $25 billion hit as a result of COVID-19.

The Prime Minister will argue that the big-spending measures to save jobs including JobKeeper have saved 700,000 jobs and lowered the peak of unemployment by up to 5 percentage points.

After the COVID-19 crisis first hit earlier this year the Morrison Government delayed the May budget to battle the virus and prepare the stimulus packages to support the economy.

Now, the true cost of those shutdowns in terms of the economic hit and tax revenue foregone will be revealed.

For the first time, the Morrison Government will reveal today that company tax receipts are expected to fall by more than $25 billion over this financial year and last financial year.

Mr Frydenberg said Australians should prepare themselves for a shock as the true impact of the coronavirus pandemic is revealed.

Trump 'surging' HUNDREDS of federal law enforcement to Chicago as part of Operation Legend

President Donald Trump has announced the deployment of ‘hundreds’ of federal law enforcement officers to Chicago as part of Operation Legend, a federal crackdown on violent crime in the US.

The FBI, Department of Homeland Security, US Marshals and other federal agencies will be sending officers to Chicago, the president announced, noting that more than 400 people have been killed in the city just this year, and over a thousand injured in shootings.

“We will not stand by and watch it happen,” Trump said.

Americans of all races and in all postal codes deserve to live in safety, he said, adding that no mother should bury her child because local politicians refuse to do what is necessary.

‘Operation Legend’ is a Department of Justice undertaking named after Legend Taliferro, a 4-year-old boy murdered earlier this month when someone shot up his house in Kansas City, Missouri. His family was in attendance at the White House event on Wednesday.

US Sanctions Kadyrov’s Wife, Daughters Over Alleged ‘Gross Human Rights Violations’

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Washington added the head of the Russian southern republic of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, to its sanctions blacklist, accusing him of alleged “numerous human rights violations”, while restrictions were also imposed on his family. The State Department put Kadyrov on a list barring him from entering US territory, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said in a statement on Monday, according to RT.

RevContent InArticle SOLO

The US official added his agency has “extensive credible information” that the Chechen leader was supposedly behind “numerous gross violations of human rights” committed over more than a decade, including “extrajudicial killings”.

The statement did not delve further into these accusations but mentioned what it called “horrific reports of abuses against LGBTI persons” in the southern Russian republic – something that the Chechen authorities have repeatedly denied.

“We are concerned that Mr. Kadyrov is now using the excuse of the coronavirus pandemic to inflict further human rights abuses on the people of the Chechen Republic,” the statement read.

The US authorities did not limit themselves to imposing sanctions against Kadyrov and introduced similar restrictions against his wife, Medni, and his two eldest daughters – Aishat and Karina (aka Khadizhat).

“Today’s action serves to notify Mr. Kadyrov that his involvement in gross violations of human rights has consequences, both for him and his family,” the State Department warned, adding that Washington would use “all tools” to “ensure accountability” of all those it considers involved in human rights violations.

The news prompted a swift response from the Chechen leader, who posted a photo of himself holding two machine guns while standing in an armory.

“Pompeo, we accept the fight! This will get interesting,” he wrote.

The Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman, Maria Zakharova, also reacted to the US move by saying that “it would be difficult to provide a mirror response, but we will come up with something”.

It is not the first time the Chechen leader has been sanctioned by Washington. The US Treasury Department already targeted Kadyrov with financial sanctions back in 2017, accusing him of alleged “human rights violations” amid reports about an “anti-gay purge”.

A year later, Kadyrov stated that the situation with human rights in Chechnya is better than in the US itself. Replying to a critical remark by then-acting State Secretary John Sullivan, Kadyrov noted that Chechnya has an extremely low rate of murder, robbery, rape, abduction and other street crime, and prioritizes equality by ethnicity and religion.

Republican Rep Matt Gaetz Violated House Ethics Rules, Politico Reports

A Politico investigation found that Republican Florida Rep. Matt Gaetz engaged in spending practices that broke the House of Representatives’ ethics rules on several occasions.

The new allegations of wrongdoing come after the House Ethics Office in June dropped an investigation into Gaetz’s district office in Pensacola, Florida, where he was accused of renting his office from a friend, advisor and donor following a separate Politico report.

Gaetz transferred tens of thousands of taxpayer dollars, which was discovered after looking through the House’s disbursement report, to the company of a speech writing consultant who had been previously fired from the Trump administration, which may violate House rules, according to Politico’s Wednesday report.

Gaetz admitted to sending $28,000 in taxpayer money to Darren Beattie, a far-right former White House aide, though his office said that it was an error that they were working to correct, Politico reported.

The Maxwell Family Business: Espionage

Many were surprised to learn earlier this month that the key co-conspirator in Jeffrey Epstein’s intelligence-linked sexual blackmail operation, Ghislaine Maxwell, had been in hiding in New England since Epstein’s arrest and subsequent “suicide” last summer. Her recent arrest, of course, has returned attention to the Epstein scandal and to Ghislaine’s ties to the entire operation, in which she played a central and crucial role, arguably more so than Epstein himself.

Ghislaine was first reported to be living in New England at the mansion of her alleged boyfriend Scott Borgeson on August 14th of last year. Though Maxwell is believed to have stayed there until purchasing the nearby New Hampshire home where she was arrested, attention from her presence on the East Coast was immediately and sensationally re-directed to the West Coast when, a day later on August 15th, the New York Post published a picture allegedly depicting Maxwell reading a book on “CIA operatives” at an In-N-Out Burger in Los Angeles, California. The photo was later revealed to have been photoshopped and a fake, but ultimately served its purpose in distracting from her actual location in New England.

While the media frenziedly covered the fake In-N-Out Burger photo, the appearance of an unexpected visitor nearby Borgeson’s mansion succeeded in largely slipping under the radar. On August 18th, Ghislaine’s sister Christine was spotted “packing up a number of bags” into a SUV just a few miles from Borgeson’s “secluded beachfront” home. Christine, who currently lives and works in Dallas, Texas, declined to comment on why she was visiting the exact area where Ghislaine was allegedly hiding at the time.

Out of the seven Maxwell siblings, Ghislaine Maxwell has undoubtedly received the bulk of media scrutiny both in recent years and arguably ever since the suspected homicide of the family patriarch, Robert Maxwell, in 1991. In the years since his death, Robert Maxwell’s close ties to Israeli intelligence and links to other intelligence agencies have been documented by respected journalists and investigators including Seymour Hersh and Gordon Thomas, among others.

While Ghislaine’s own ties to intelligence have since come to light in relation to her critical role in facilitating the Jeffrey Epstein sexual blackmail operation. Little, if any attention, has been paid to her siblings, particularly Christine and her twin sister Isabel, despite them having held senior roles at the Israeli intelligence front company that facilitated their father’s greatest act of espionage on Israel’s behalf, the sale of the bugged PROMIS software to the U.S. national laboratories at the heart of the country’s nuclear weapons system.

Not only that, but Christine and Isabel later became directly involved with technology-based business ventures that directly involved Ghislaine during the very period she worked with Epstein on behalf of Israeli and U.S. intelligence to ensnare powerful U.S. political and public figures in a sexual blackmail scheme involving minors. At the time, Ghislaine described her profession to a number of newspapers as “an internet operator.” Then, after this venture’s multi-million dollar sale to a competitor, Christine and Isabel became involved with successors to the PROMIS software scandal that were closely tied to U.S. intelligence and Israeli intelligence, respectively.

However, McKinley’s fortunes were troubled as its efforts to be the first search engine to go public fell through, igniting a stand-off between Christine Maxwell and Isabel’s husband that also resulted in the company’s essentially falling behindother market leaders both missing the window for a second IPO attempt and lagging behind in adding ad revenue to their business model. Excite, which was later acquired by AskJeeves, ultimately bought the McKinley Group and Magellan for 1.2 million shares of Excite stock in 1996, which was then valued at $18 million. It was allegedly Isabel Maxwell who made the deal possible, with Excite’s CEO at the time, George Bell, claiming she alone salvaged their purchase of McKinley.

Despite the company’s lackluster end, the Maxwell sisters and other stakeholders in the company, Ghislaine Maxwell among them, not only obtained a multi-million dollar payout from the deal, but also forged close connections with Silicon Valley high-rollers. Upon McKinley/Magellan’s sale, the overt ties of Christine and Isabel Maxwell to intelligence in both the U.S. and Israel would grow considerably.

A Family Affair

While the company is often framed as being a venture between Christine and Isabel Maxwell, McKinley Group and Magellan were much more than just the twin sisters’ business. For instance, a November 2003 article in The Evening Standard notes that Christine and Isabel launched the company with considerable help from their brother, Kevin Maxwell who the article described as being “consumed by an overwhelming desire to be his ‘dad reincorporated’” according to confidants. Another Evening Standard article from March 2001 cited report that “Kevin played a major role” in the company’s affairs.

In addition, at the time, The Sunday Times noted in November 2000 that Ghislaine Maxwell “had a substantial interest in Magellan” and netted a considerable sum following its sale to Excite in 1996. It also noted that Ghislaine, throughout the 1990s, had “been discreetly building up a business empire as opaque as her father’s” and that “she is secretive to the point of paranoia and her business affairs are deeply mysterious.” However, she would nonetheless describe “herself as an ‘internet operator’” even though “her office in Manhattan refuses to confirm even the name or the nature of her business.” A separate article in The Scotsman from 2001 also notes that Ghislaine “is extremely secretive about her affairs and describes herself as an internet operator.”

Exactly how involved Ghislaine Maxwell was involved in the McKinley Group and Magellan is unclear, though her decision to describe herself as an “internet operator” and her documented “substantial interest” in the company suggest that it was more than superficial. What is notable, however, is that Ghislaine’s time as an “internet operator” and her business interests in Magellan overlap directly with her time working alongside Jeffrey Epstein in an Israeli intelligence-linked sexual blackmail operation.

During this period of time, Ghislaine Maxwell and Jeffrey Epstein frequently had considerable overlap in their finances, with press reports from the time often asking whether Ghislaine’s expenses were paid by Epstein or through her access to the “lost Maxwell millions” that had been hidden in a web of murky, untraceable financial entities and allegedly “disappeared” following his 1991 death.
