Video – Chinese Consulate in San Francisco – Staff + Security do not like being filmed!
On March 2, 2017, I filmed video footage outside of the Consulate General of the People’s Republic of China in San Francisco. Neither Consulate Officials nor the Security Guard understood or seemed at all concerned with the right of the people to take pictures and video from a public sidewalk.
When I called the Consulate to discuss the issue, I was unable to speak with anyone that spoke fluent English. They referred me to another phone number which answered with a generic voicemail greeting.
Upon contacting Armada Security, I spoke with a friendly gentleman by the name of Mike. He said that while he could not tell me what the Chinese Consulate knows or does not know about the First Amendment, he was well aware of the fact that people can take pictures and video in public, and said that he would speak with Guard in question.

Report: US fighter jets come close to Iranian passenger plane over Syria
Israel and the United States have long accused Mahan Air of ferrying weapons for Iranian-linked guerrillas in Syria and elsewhere.
Two American fighter jets came close to an Iranian passenger plane over Syrian airspace causing the pilot to change altitude quickly to avoid collision, which injured several passengers, the official IRIB news agency reported on Thursday.
The agency initially reported a single Israeli jet had come near the plane but later quoted the pilot as saying there were two jets which identified themselves as American.
The pilot of the passenger plane contacted the jet pilots to warn them about keeping a safe distance and the jet pilots identified themselves as American, IRIB reported.
Video posted by the agency showed a single jet from the window of the plane and comments from a passenger who had blood on his face.

The Iranian plane, belonging to Mahan Air, was heading from Tehran to Beirut and landed safely in Beirut, an airport source told Reuters.
An Israeli military spokesman had no immediate comment and there was no immediate comment from the U.S. military.
Israel and the United States have long accused Mahan Air of ferrying weapons for Iranian-linked guerrillas in Syria and elsewhere.
One passenger in the IRIB report described how his head had hit the roof of the plane during the change in altitude and video also showed an elderly passenger sprawled on the floor.
All of the passengers came off the plane and only some had minor injuries, the head of the Beirut airport told Reuters.

Tehran says AMERICAN, not Israeli fighter jets endangered passengers of Iranian airliner over Syria
US Air Force, not Israeli, fighter jets were responsible for unsafely intercepting the Mahan Air plane over Syria, which resulted in injuries to several passengers traveling to Beirut, Iranian media reported.
Mahan Air Flight 1152 was en route from Tehran to Lebanon when it was intercepted by two F-15 fighters near the Syria-Jordan border. The approaching jets forced it to rapidly change course and altitude, resulting in several injuries among the passengers, the company said.
Initial reports from eyewitnesses on board spoke of Israeli planes, and were repeated by international media outlets. The captain of Flight 1152 later told the Iranian news agency Fars that the pilots had identified themselves as US Air Force during the radio contact.
Iran's Ambassador to the UN Majid Takht-Ravanchi had informed Secretary-General Antonio Guterres of the incident, and warned that “the Islamic Republic of Iran will take the United States responsible” if any harm befalls the plane on the way back to Tehran, according to the Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Seyed Abbas Mousavi.

By Thursday evening the plane had returned to Tehran safely, but at least three passengers on board were injured in the incident.
The intercept took place in Syrian airspace over the At-Tanf border crossing with Iraq, according to Syria’s SANA news agency. The US has established a military base in the area, which the government in Damascus considers a violation of Syrian sovereignty.
Mahan Air is a privately owned Iranian civilian carrier. It was placed on the US sanctions list against “proliferators of weapons of mass destruction and their supporters” in December 2019, when Washington accused it of transporting troops and equipment for the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC).

Trump Sends Border Patrol Tactical Units to Seattle 'On Standby' to Help Federal Police
Agents from the Special Response Team of the US Customs and Border Protection have been deployed to Seattle, Washington, under orders from US President Donald Trump's administration.
“FPS routinely requests mutual assistance from other law enforcement agencies when there are threats to federal properties. The CBP team will be on standby in the area, should they be required," read a statement issued Thursday evening by the Federal Protective Service.
This comes just a day after Trump announced Operation Legend, which, according to US Attorney General Bill Barr, "aims to immediately help our police agencies and our local leadership to prevent additional victims" of gun violence and other crimes.
Prior to the Seattle announcement, the initiative brought about the deployment of federal police to Chicago, Illinois, Albuquerque, New Mexico, and Portland, Oregon.
Democratic Mayor of Seattle Jenny Durkan expressed earlier Thursday that "any deployment" to her city would, in her view, "undermine public safety," according to the New York Times.
Department of Homeland Security spokesperson Alexei Woltornist clarified to the outlet on Thursday that "there is no large-scale deployment of personnel to Seattle at this time."
"As threats warrant, any large-scale use of law enforcement assets will involve close coordination with local law enforcement,” he said in a statement.
“There are no other cities across the country that have the same threats and lack of local law enforcement support as we are experiencing in Portland.”

When Supreme Court Justice Neil Gorsuch redefined “sex” in federal law, twisting federal bans on sex discrimination to include discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation and transgender identity, his colleague Samuel Alito rightly warned that the decision would wreak havoc on the health care industry. Almost exactly one month later, the ACLU filed a lawsuit to force a Roman Catholic hospital to perform transgender surgery in violation of the Hippocratic Oath, citing none other than Gorsuch’s opinion.
In Hammons v. University of Maryland Medical System (UMMS), a biological female who identifies as a transgender man, Jesse Hammons, claims St. Joseph Medical Center, a hospital operated by UMMS, unlawfully discriminated against her by refusing to perform a hysterectomy to remove a healthy uterus. The lawsuit would force Catholic hospitals to violate the Hippocratic Oath by removing a fully-functional organ and permanently sterilizing patients.
Under the Ethical and Religious Directives for Catholic Health Care Services established by the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops, Catholic hospitals may not perform procedures that induce sterility unless “their direct effect is the cure or alleviation of a present and serious pathology and a simpler treatment is not available.”
St. Joseph hospital does perform hysterectomies in order to treat serious medical conditions that require such a drastic surgery, such as “uterine fibroids, endometriosis, pelvic support problems, abnormal uterine bleeding, chronic pelvic pain, and gynecological cancer.”
According to Hammons and the ACLU, Hammons’ gender dysphoria (identifying with the gender opposite one’s birth sex) is a serious condition requiring hysterectomy. The lawsuit refers to the hysterectomy as a “medically necessary treatment relating to his [sic] diagnosis of gender dysphoria.” The hospital had scheduled the surgery for the plaintiff on January 6, 2020, but canceled the surgery because it would violate the Hippocratic Oath.
The lawsuit claims that canceling the surgery involved discrimination on the basis of sex in violation of the Fourteenth Amendment’s Equal Protection Clause and the Affordable Care Act (a.k.a. Obamacare). Since UMMS operates St. Joseph as a Catholic hospital, the lawsuit also claims that the alleged discrimination violated the Establishment Clause of the First Amendment.
The key point at issue revolves around whether or not transgender surgery — in this case, hysterectomy — is “medically necessary” or actively harmful. While many medical establishments have rushed to embrace the transgender bandwagon, many formerly transgender people have rejected their transgender identities and lamented the horrific results of “gender affirmation” surgery. One 19-year-old man who temporarily identified as a woman and had surgery to remove his male genitals and replace them with a simulated female version, described the result as a “Frankenstein hack job.”

Rapper Ice Cube said this week that Hollywood should funnel money into black-led projects as reparations.
On Wednesday, the rapper appeared on the popular radio show "The Breakfast Club" where he said that the entertainment industry should be giving back to the black community for appropriating and using African American culture to make money.
"Black studios is virtually all the studios who've contributed in our narrative, in our pain, in our misrepresentation, is stealing our history, and giving it to white people for over 100 years," he said.
"So I think these studios that we know and love should kick in to a studio that's ran by black people with no outside influences, and whose movies and projects are owned by those black people, those black artists and black directors and writers and people who put the project together should own the projects," he added.
Such companies, Ice Cube said, include big names such as Universal, MGM, and Warner Bros.
“I just think it's a form of reparations from the entertainment industry if they all had to invest a certain amount of money into the studio each year as payment for all the damage they've done to black people," he explained.
He concluded, "Every artist I know, every great actor or director or writer, has 10 projects they can't get made because some white people don't understand what they're trying to make. That's a shame, so we need our own place."
