Chinese PLA troops are operating freely in Western Canada, allowed in by Trudeau's trade deal, ostensibly to "protect Chinese investments abroad." From the description, they seem more like special forces than regular units. This could be a major strategic threat.

Yep. Could be. Consider where the OTHER major North American population of Asians is located: California.
They look to be setting up a pincer movement. Hook south from Canada, hook north from Cali, unite forces, sever the west coast from the rest of the US.
