Last night I met 3 random people while trying to view the comet-

Late at night. Super dark, could barely see anything.

All 3 were young Muslims, I only know that because they openly told me at the beginning.

None of them were born in the USA. They openly told me that too. All 3 of them did.

Friendly conversation at first, about the stars and beer and weed, but they turned it political really quickly, so most of the conversation was about world politics and religion.

I'm white.

I'm also not quiet.

They kept asking me 'what do you think about…'

>Muslims

>Kurds

>Turks

>Syria

>Palestine

>Jews

>The US gov't

Over and over for more than an hour.

They were just testing me the entire time.

It felt weird, but it wasn't the first time I've experienced this.

I think I did well. Never got heated; truth bombed them a couple times.

>"Are you serious?" "Damn man" "He's totally right about that, you know", "I'm surprised you know that, man"

But on the drive back home, I was thinking: What if I wasn't white? Would the conversation have stayed calm and chill, longer? I obv was the only one that didn't care about what race we were.

I approached them. Just gonna trade em a couple beers for a couple drags off the blunt I could smell.

Racism is 100% an issue in this country.

It's because it's 1000% an issue worldwide though.

It's because race/religion has been such a big issue for so long.

This country is special.

Unique.

And people come here because of it.

That's why the bad guys want to destroy it.

Just thought I'd share.
