What caught my eye about the Brookings Institute is its chairman emeritus, Louis W. Cabot.

For those that may not know, the Cabot family was one of the "early Boston families" that became extremely wealthytrafficking opium, rum, and slaves. They were shipping merchants that dominated the area and one of the Cabots was offered the job of first Secretary of the Navy but declined.
Later, there was a rivalry between the Cabots and John F. Fitzgerald/Kennedys.
