And they should be.
You can't give the WaPoo away in my NoVa suburb. In 2004, they published a defamatory piece that absolutely smeared our Marines forward deployed in the second battle for Fallujah in October. As my husband was one of those Marines they smeared, I wrote them and provided documentation and asked them to correct and retract. They refused telling me, that they "believed" what they had written was true. This was my first real exposure to the "truth" is whatever fits our narrative. I made sure everyone in our neighborhood knew about it, and along with some other very offensive front page photos again smearing our troops, the WaPo was done. They tried selling subscriptions at our grocery store but no one would talk to them, and at one point they "gifted" our neighborhood with "free trials" but no one would even go to the end of the driveway and pick them up, they are THAT loathed in our Va locale.
The second was when I paid for my own ticket to fly out to Iowa to watch Sarah Palin give the Ronald Reagan dinner address. Steve Bannon was filming "Undefeated" at the time but I didn't know that. Anyways, people drove for 3 and 4 hrs to see her. There was national and international press there - but they were all smoozing and drinking and chatting with each other. Not a single one spoke to any of the people who had driven so far to see here to find out why. It was clear that the story had been already written and filed, before she even took the stage! When I confronted der Spiegel, he just shrugged and said they were printing a quote from Joe Biden instead. The sneering contempt from the press towards the attendees was my first clue at just how deep the depth of their disgust and hatred of "Flyover Country" is and remains.
The second was their refusal to report honestly on the Tea Party movement, especially the crowds on the Mall.
If people abandon their social media that they control (FB, Instragram, Twitter) then they are really donezo. CNN ratings are a joke, as they should be. People are aware that what they are being fed is propaganda, not news. A whole lot of projection coming out from the WaPoo.
