As an Xer-anon myself, I offer an explanation if it has any utility to otheranons: Xers grew up and lived right smack in the middle of a change up in the System’s Narrative. We had the unique opportunity to witness in a narrow moment of time, the System adjusting the dials. For those paying attention, some of us saw first hand (not all Xers mind you, but more than other gens), we saw the static in the signal as the channel was being changed, and KNEW right then and there that fuckery was afoot. The gen before, and the gen after watched their movies uninterrupted with clearer signals that didn’t give away the game in their eyes.

In a fuzzy sense, i’d say Boomers were generally told there was “nothing to see here”… Ys were told “don’t look because it will only hurt”.

Ixer saw the change up, and empirically determined someone, or something at least, was NOT TRUTHFUL. Either or both generations were being told an untruth. That pretty much solidified my life of walking grumpiness.

You seem to be doing ok Yanon, all things considered.

My optimism comes from seeing that never before have more people been walking around KNOWING something isn’t right. We do not all agree on what THAT not right is… but never have more poeple known at the same time. That kind of shake up and ‘tenderizing’ (for a change) doesn’t come along too often. Agreed, it’s still touch and go, could go either way yet… but at least We haven’t had this kind of chance in a long time.
