I did, several times. You either aren't paying attention, or you don't understand.

The bulb is a distraction, the clock is a distraction, the calculator is a distraction… see the pattern

yet? The "thing" in the formulae are the clock faces (numbers), calculator numbers, and pips

over

the top of the bulbs.

Remove the distractions and you have

9 + 9 + 3 = 21

1234 + 1234 + 1234 = 30 (1+2+3+4=10, 10+10+10=30)

||||| + ||||| - ||||| = 15 (|||||=15, |=3)

9 + 1224 * |||| |||| |||| = ? (9+(1+2+2+4)||||||||||||=9+936)

You fail this because… I'll let you figure it out.
