MSM narrative today is US needs to bomb Syria because Macron says he has proof Assad used chemicals on people.

This, I assume, is distraction from what Nunes received from FBI,

Perhaps surprisingly, given his business background, Pompeo’s net worth is rated below average by various public interest sites – 69 percent below the average member of Congress, according to InsideGov, which pegs his net worth at $345,011.

He is a strong critic of the Iran nuclear deal, remarking just Thursday on Twitter that he is “looking forward to rolling back this disastrous deal with the world’s largest state sponsor of terrorism.” Among other actions, he has sponsored bills to increase sanctions on Iran and to require the Obama administration to investigate Iran for violating the Geneva Convention in its treatment of ten captured American sailors last year. He also unsuccessfully attempted to obtain a visa to visit Iran and observe its most recent round of elections.

Pompeo has supported online surveillance programs. He has said former NSA contractor Edward Snowden should be “brought back from Russia and given due process.” He stated, “I think the proper outcome would be that he would be given a death sentence” because he “put friends of mine, friends of yours who serve in the military today at enormous risk because of the information he stole and then released to foreign powers.”

Pompeo was a member of the Select Committee on Benghazi and was critical of Hillary Clinton’s handling of the situation at the U.S. diplomatic mission on September 11, 2012. Pompeo even issued additional comments on the attacks after the Republican members of the committee issued their report. Representative Jim Jordan joined Pompeo in going even further with the critique of Clinton’s performance.

In one part of their additional views, they concluded that Clinton “failed to lead.”

The two Congressmen also concluded that the Obama Administration “did not move heaven and earth to rescue our people.”

Jordan and Pompeo also concluded that Clinton and the State Department put politics first in their response to the attack by blaming it on a protest of a video instead of calling it a terrorist attack.

Pompeo hearing today.

Since being nominated last month, Pompeo has spent much of his time at the State Department immersing himself in briefing books and undergoing mock hearings and prep meetings on key issues like Iran, Syria and North Korea, as well as the inner workings of the State Department, a person close to Pompeo said.

He’s also spoken to all eight living former secretaries — including Hillary Clinton, whom he famously criticized over the deadly 2012 attack on U.S. facilities in Benghazi, Libya.

He’ll tell the Senate that he’s read CIA histories of past talks with North Korea and is confident that Trump won’t repeat past mistakes, according to the remarks.

“President Trump isn’t one to play games at the negotiating table, and I won’t be either,” he plans to say.

The Republican also is expected to pledge to make it “an immediate personal priority” to work with U.S. allies to try to “fix” the Iran nuclear deal.

Trump announced Pompeo’s nomination to become the 70th secretary of state in the same March 13 tweet in which he dumped Tillerson

Pompeo, who was confirmed for the CIA job by a 66-32 vote, developed a reputation for being more outwardly political than many past directors of the traditionally apolitical agency. He developed a visibly close relationship with the president, traveling to the White House on most days to deliver the highly classified President’s Daily Brief in person rather than leaving the task to other intelligence officials. Often Trump would have the CIA director stay in the West Wing after the briefing to accompany him to other meetings.
