Sorry if posted already, this is a ruling from 6/2/20 regarding BSA’s choice of bankruptcy council. Century insurance company objected to Sidley representing them both.
Judge says she is “shocked” how rarely council is barred from representing clients with adverse claims to existing clients. Then denies Century’s motion.
Most interesting part is that Lloyd’s of London was used as a reinsurer and had won an arbitration hearing letting LL skate from paying claims to century because century made a poor deal with BSA.
BSA libel to bankrupt Century/Chubb as these 7K-10K victims make their claims.
This filing also mentions that corona is further killing BSA as their camps are the majority of their revenue.
There are also concerns by claimants that local BSA chapters have been moving assets around to protect the assets from bankruptcy and victim payouts.
