The Witcher debuted at the end of last year and received good comments from the fan community. This is why many were surprised to learn that the Netflix production that tells us the adventures of Geralt de Rivia did not receive any Emmy Award nominations.

This Tuesday, the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences announced all the nominees for the award ceremony. Many were struck by the fact that none of them is The Witcher, a Netflix production that has enjoyed success among the public and part of the specialized critics.

This news did not sit well with many members of the audience. We say this since several people have used social networks to point out that The Witcher deserved recognition at the awards ceremony. Especially for the performance of some members of its cast or for its soundtrack.

On Tuesday, July 28 the TV Academy doled out its nominations for the 72nd Emmy Awards and “Outlander” was nowhere to be found. Starz’s romance epic was cruelly snubbed in every category for Season 5, which aired between February-May of 2020, including Best Drama Series, Best Drama Actor for Sam Heughan and Best Drama Actress for Caitriona Balfe. Throughout its first four seasons, “Outlander” received four Emmy bids — music (2015), production design (2016) and costumes (2016 and 2018) — but no wins.
