If you wanted to systematically torture and demoralize someone you'd captured, and had the ability to wipe their mind, how would you do it?
What would you replace their memories with? Would you make them a loser? Give them the impression that they had failed, fucked up and disappointed everyone close to them in their lives? Would you saddle them with debt? Give them health issues? Make them feel like the entire world is crashing down on them? Would you set them up in a situation similar to a prison? Somewhere where they could be controlled? Distract them with dopamine rushes all day?
What if they began remembering things? What would you do then?
If you were a POW in a mind war where anything is possible and nothing is as it seems, would you even know it?
