The other issue is that these data aggreggators are selling info that is incorrect or just flat out wrong. I paid to have a background check done on myself and looked at my data from social media sites and it had several very noticeable errors. This is a type of slander, and they are selling information about you that is not correct and offer you no recourse to correct it or have false info removed. At least with your credit report, there is a mechanism for you to view what they are reporting about you, and to challenge any info that is wrong and have your info corrected including removal of false info.
