NOTABLE?

Re: Lefties claiming kidnapping

This Portland court case from a previous notable made the claim that the Lefties were worried they were going to be kidnapped. They said since the federal agents weren't verbally identifying themselves as police (although the word POLICE is clearly written on their uniforms in big letters), the Lefties are afraid some people who are against the protests will dress like the police and kidnap them. Suit was brought by Oregon AG on behalf of all Oregonians.

Judge called them out on it (a delight to read this ruling because he stuck it to them!). Said the state had no standing to bring the suit because only TWO people had claimed they were "seized" unlawfully by federal agents. Judge said no to the temporary restraining order and then ripped their request for redress to shreds. They wanted the court to require the feds to verbally identify themselves as police, even though their uniforms clearly stated it. Judge basically told the AG it was stupid to think people who were brazen enough to dress up like LEO and kidnap someone (a felony resulting in 70 yrs sentence) would blanche at saying they were police.

Just be aware this is what they're trying to do. I could see them stage a kidnapping or two just to blame it on the feds. Judge denied the case. Good thing they got a decent judge.

Oh, and last footnote from judge pointed out the use of the term "disappeared" because he thought they were trying to identify with Los Desaparecidos, those 30K plus people in Argentina who just disappeared for political reasons.
