So today Pizza Hut announced it will be closing all of its 16 stores in Greece (all of them located in Athens), because especially now with the pandemic, they were far from being profitable.

This made me wonder: how do internationally known food/coffee etc chain brands, like McDonalds, KFC, Starbuck, etc (that weren't founded in the country you live in) do in your country? Do people prefer them over local ones, or no?

For instance, here in Greece, people prefer souvlaki over pizza, mainly because it's cheaper. As for pizza, you can literally find pizza slices even in bakeries, but then again we have our own chain store called "Pizza Fan", or even local pizzerias. Same with coffee, where people prefer stores like "Coffee Lab" and "Coffee Island"
