You don't need to see your wife's conversations with her ex boyfriend from nearly a decade ago… But "everything" being open implies you or anyone could have a gander.
I have been in positions where I could see things about people that most never see. There is a reason we are allowed to be individuals. There is a reason our thoughts are no simple task to hear. Why we instinctively secure diaries/journals and cover our intimates.
We are all pigs in human clothing - animals striving toward the ideal of humanity. Granting a view beneath the clothing as an open social superweapon is not the way to go.
