These kind of "solutions" keep popping up. The app is vulnerable, the signal is vulnerable, and if they spoof what you see back vs what they actually count? And there is no paper trail, at all, to recount? At least with optical scan you have a ballot to fill out.
Just because some technology exists doesn't mean it's wise to use, especially in voting. Simple = more likely to not fail. There has always been election fraud. But what scale do you want it on?
Paper, at the polls, registration checked, voter ID. Chain of custody from polls on through the counting and posting of counts.
