It appears a decision has been made on the viral social media app TikTok - what Reddit CEO Steve Huffman called " fundamentally parasitic."

Bloomberg reports that, according to people familiar with the matter, President Trump plans to sign an order to direct China’s ByteDance Ltd.’s to divest its ownership of the popular app.

The U.S. has been reviewing potential national security risks due to the company’s control of the app, and the order could be announced as soon as Friday.

This comes after Josh Hawley and Dick Blumenthal asked for an investigation because of reports of violations of Americans' civil liberties by sharing private info with the CCP.

FCC’s Brendan Carr Slams Twitter’s ‘Orange man bad policy’

During Thursday’s episode of “The Sara Carter Podcast,” Federal Communications Commission Commissioner Brendan Carr slammed Twitter’s “arbitrary” censorship of conservative voices on its platform, telling Carter that content moderators on Twitter are seemingly oddly focused on the President’s tweets.

“They seem to only be narrowly focused on you know, President Trump, and prominent conservative voices and they take action against others as well. I don’t paint with too broad brushstrokes, but it seems by and large like it’s going on against them and in the hypocrisy here, so you know, we have this week as well,” Carr said.

“It seems like what I call an orange man bad policy,” FCC Commission Brendan Carr told Sara Carter. “It’s the inconsistency, the arbitrary exercise of power that I think is contributing to putting big tech under the spotlight.”

While many conservatives are being censored for spreading alleged disinformation, many prominent figures and organizations who have done the same go unchecked on the platform.

Carr highlighted the double standard, telling Carter there needs to be policy changes that allow the government some leeway to ensure that Section 230, the Communications Decency Act, allows users to have the power to choose the content they consume.

Amending the legislation was a central topic of a hearing this week before a Congressional antitrust panel. The group of lawmakers questioned big tech CEOs, including Jeff Bezos of Amazon, Tim Cook of Apple, Mark Zuckerberg of Facebook and Sundar Pichai of Google.

Twitter’s Jack Dorsey was invited to testify during the earlier hearing, but never made it and is reported to have ignored the request. The tech giants did their best to try and convince the lawmakers that their businesses are not anti-competitive monopolies.

“What’s interesting, is right now on Twitter, you can go on there -and still up there is a tweet from Representative Swalwell saying don’t wear masks,” said Carr, who had just noted that Twitter suspended President Trump’s son Don Jr., for aTweet related to information on the Coronavirus epidemic.

“There’s no, you know, screen over that tweet,” he added. “There’s no ‘Click here for more information.”

He listed a number of Democrats and liberal analysts whose inaccurate Tweets remain up on the platform with no correction from Twitter or suspension. Carr also addressed reports from a recent meeting in Israel between lawmakers and Twitter that questioned the company’s use of the arbitrary policy that allows the Iranian regime to consistently post Tweets calling for the destruction of Israel and genocide of the Jewish people, without any repercussions from the company.

Carr stated that he had wished lawmakers in America would ask similar poignant questions at the hearing to expose the bias.

Bubble indemnity: Big Pharma firms will NOT be held accountable for side effects of Covid vaccine

A senior executive for pharmaceutical giant AstraZeneca has confirmed that his company cannot face legal action for any potential side effects caused by its Covid vaccine. Those affected will have no legal recourse.

AstraZeneca is one of 25 pharmaceutical companies worldwide already testing their Covid vaccines on humans, in preparation for injecting hundreds of millions of people. These are flush times for Britain’s largest pharmaceutical company, worth something in the order of £70 million. They have just reported bumper profits of $12.6 billion in the last six months alone.

But despite its healthy balance sheet, AstraZeneca is unwilling to be held responsible for any potential side effects of its ‘hopeful’ vaccine candidate. In other words, the company is completely protected, or indemnified, against lawsuits from people who are injected with their vaccine and experience negative effects, regardless of how severe or long-lasting they are.

The firm’s lawyers have demanded that clauses to that effect be put in their contracts with the countries AstraZeneca has agreed to supply with its Covid vaccine. The company says that, without such guarantees of indemnity, they would not be incentivised to produce the drug. And it seems most of the countries have ceded to this demand.

Done in the national interest?

Ruud Dobber, a senior AstraZeneca executive, told Reuters “In the contracts we have in place, we are asking for indemnification. For most countries it is acceptable to take that risk on their shoulders because it is in their national interest’’. For “national interest,” read “government interest.” Whether what is happening is good for the actual people of vaccinated countries is, to put it very mildly, an open question.

11 injured in brazen broad daylight bank robbery in Berlin

A large-scale police operation has been launched in central Berlin after four robbers raided a bank located in a local mall. The robbers sprayed some irritant gas inside, injuring 11 people.

Dozens of police cars alongside firefighters and ambulances have arrived at a mall located in Berlin’s Hermannplatz square not far from the city center following a daring bank robbery committed in broad daylight on Friday afternoon.

Four suspects are reported to have broken into a bank branch in the mall spraying irritant gas before fleeing the crime scene in a car. Eleven people – all said to be bank customers – have suffered injuries due to gas exposure. Four of them have been taken to hospital.

Law enforcement officers have “descriptions” of the suspects, police spokesman Thilo Cablitz said without providing any details on the robbers’ identities. Yet, many details of the heist remain unclear. It is even not known whether the robbers managed to take anything from the bank.

The robbery also occurred as a cash-in-transit van was standing in front of the mall entrance. Yet, according to Cablitz, it was not targeted by the robbers.

Police are currently searching for the suspects. A special forces unit, SEK, has arrived at the site. Hermannplatz Square and nearby areas, as well as a local metro station, have all been cordoned off by officers.

Police are currently investigating “all possible versions” of the incident, yet, a terrorist motive has been “absolutely ruled out,” the spokesman said.

White House Has Submitted 'Four Different Offers' On Stimulus Which Dems Have Ignored: Meadows

While the White House and Congressional Republicans work towards a temporary extension of lapsing unemployment benefits, Democrats continue to reject the stopgap measures according to White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows.

"At the president’s direction, we have made no less than four different offers" on unemployment insurance as well as a moratorium on evictions, Meadows said at a Friday White House briefing reported by Bloomberg. "They’ve not even been countered with a proposal."

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said on Friday that negotiations with Meadows and Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin will continue, but that there can be no stopgap measures without significant progress on an overall package.

"The Republicans said they wanted to take a pause. Well, the virus didn’t," said Pelosi at her own Friday briefing - which she conveniently held at the same time as Meadows was speaking. "Clearly they, and perhaps the White House, do not understand the gravity of the situation."

The most pressing issue in the talks now is extra federal unemployment benefits of $600 a week that run dry as of Friday, leaving millions of out-of-work Americans without an additional safety net at a time when the jobs market is still staggering.

Republicans want to cut the benefit in the next stimulus package to a portion of lost wages. In an attempt to prevent a lapse in benefits, Republicans including Trump are pressuring Democrats to go along with a stopgap extension of the expanded unemployment benefit as well as a moratorium on evictions while talks continue on a more comprehensive virus relief bill. Meadows said Thursday that the White House was flexible on the amount of the extension. -Bloomberg

Still, Pelosi insisted after Thursday's negotiations that a stopgap extension of federal benefits would be "worthless" unless an agreement is near on a larger package.

At present, the GOP stimulus plan sits at around $1 trillion, while House Democrats are angling for a $3.5 trillion package that would allocate funds for states and local governments struggling due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Hong Kong leader uses emergency powers to postpone legislative election for a year

Hong Kong Chief Executive Carrie Lam invokes her emergency powers to postpone the city’s September legislative election by one year, citing coronavirus resurgence as reason.

The leader made the announcement on Friday, while addressing the media, and called it “the most difficult one” since the virus outbreak started. She added that though the decision is a tough one to make, it is “essential” to ensuring public safety and health.

Lam is reported to have said that the Covid-19 situation in Hong Kong was at its worst, and that Beijing had given her the green light to implement the precautionary measures.

It had been previously speculated by the media, that the election was going to draw crowds to the polling stations and increase the risk of the virus’ transmission.

Since 2019, Hong Kong has been rocked by protests, initially triggered by a proposal of a now defunct extradition bill. The demonstrations grew into a full-blown anti-Chinese government movement, fueled by the strict new national security law in 2020, a law perceived by dissenters as an attack on the territory’s special status.

High Level Cop Arrested for Using City Network, Google to Run Child Porn Ring While On Duty

Dallas, TX — The taxpayers of Dallas, Texas may want to request a refund this week after finding out that they have been paying for a pedophile to distribute child porn to other disgusting pedophiles online. This high level cop’s entire operation was conducted on duty, on official government computers, and also on Google.

According to federal court documents, Sr. Cpl. Daniel Lee Collins allegedly uploaded sexual photos of underage girls to various Google accounts using the City of Dallas internet network, according to the Department of Justice.

According to the federal criminal complaint, Collins, a 35-year-old senior corporal assigned to Dallas Police Department’s Auto Theft Unit, was charged via criminal complaint with transportation of child pornography.

“Law enforcement officers take an oath to protect and serve,” said U.S. Attorney Erin Nealy Cox. “This defendant allegedly undermined that vow, preying upon our most vulnerable. The Department of Justice will not tolerate the exploitation of children – especially by our public servants.”

The investigation began with a tip to the the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children in May and another in June. The images were being uploaded from multiple accounts held by Collins. Google flagged the images – one uploaded on May 13 to an account tagged “Dan Collins” and two more uploaded on June 29 to an account tagged “John Smith.”

An IT expert in Dallas later traced the IP addresses for the uploads and found them to be coming from the City of Dallas internet network. Investigators determined that the same Google accounts were also accessed from Collin’s residence, according to the federal complaint.

In an interview with federal agents, Collins allegedly admitted to accessing the Google accounts and saving child pornography, according to court documents.

Despite admitting to the heinous acts of exploiting children through the uploading of child pornography, Collin is still on the job. He has only been placed on paid administrative leave pending the results of an internal investigation.

But his blue privilege didn’t stop there.

Likely due to his police officer status, Magistrate Judge David L. Horan denied the government’s motion for detention and granted Collins’ release on a personal recognizance bond. Imagine that. While people are paying thousands to bail themselves out over an arrest for possessing an arbitrary substance deemed illegal by the state, this child predator is allowed to walk out — bail free.

A convicted murderer was released to help reduce COVID-19 spread in prison. The victim's family is outraged.

A woman convicted of a brutal murder was released 19 years into what was supposed to be a minimum 84-year sentence because the prison was concerned about the potential spread of COVID-19, KOVR-TV reported.

Terebea Williams, 44, was convicted in 2001 of the 1998 murder of 23-year-old John Ruska. Williams carjacked Ruska, put him in the trunk of his own car, shot him in the abdomen, drove 750 miles with him in the trunk, then tied him up in a hotel room where he suffered for hours alone before dying.

Neither police nor prosecutors could ever figure out why she committed the crime, particularly why she subjected Ruska to such extreme suffering when she could've just taken his car and left him alone from there.

Now, the criminal who committed a shockingly senseless and brutal murder is out of prison as the state attempts to create space to limit the spread of the novel coronavirus.

The California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation did not give specifics in response to KOVR's inquiry about why Williams was among the people released, but pointed the media outlet to a general statement about the release program:

These series of actions are driven by the department's singular goal of ensuring the health of our incarcerated population and staff, and aim to be done in a way that aligns both public health and public safety. Reducing the prison population will also alleviate the impact on local hospitals that provide emergency care to individuals in prisons experiencing outbreaks, which can require transporting dozens of patients to outside hospitals for care.

Ruska's family, furious and hurt that his killer has been released, said the situation just reopens old wounds about the tragedy.

"It's appalling to me everything that's been allowed to happen," Karri Phillips, Ruska's cousin, told KOVR. "I don't think for one second she's going to walk out there a changed person, she's not. It makes me so sad and angry that he hasn't been here with us all this time."

An update Thursday on the CDCR website reported there are just under 100,000 inmates in California prisons, and 1,607 inmates were infected with COVID-19. The report also said this is the first time California's prison population has been under 100,000 in three decades.

Karen Bass’s Long March from Communist Fringe to Biden’s VP Shortlist

The Democrat’s presumptive nominee Joe Biden will name his running mate as early as next week, and Congressional Black Caucus chair Rep. Karen Bass (D-CA) is reportedly a top contender for job.

The California Democrat has emerged as the favorite pick of former Sen. Chris Dodd, who serves on Biden’s vice presidential search committee. According a source who spoke with Politico, Dodd has urged Biden to choose Bass because “she’s a loyal No. 2. And that’s what Biden really wants.”

On the surface, Bass’s background as a former medical professional and South Los Angeles community organizer make her an attractive candidate to serve at a time when public health and racial inequality are on the top of voters’ minds.

Her resume bears the hallmarks of a rising political star, starting with her first foray into elected office 16 years ago, when she won a seat in the California State Assembly and later became the first Black woman in the country to serve as the speaker of a state legislature when she assumed the Speakership in 2008. Prior to this, Bass worked as a physician assistant and a left-wing community activist who founded a non-profit in the 1990s called the Community Coalition. She made headlines after the 1992 L.A. riots for her fight to prevent liquor stores from being rebuilt in the neighborhoods destroyed by the uprising.

In 2010, Bass won her U.S. House seat, where her voting record has been typical of a progressive member of a Democratic Party increasingly embracing socialism.

However, a deep dive into Bass’s background reveals that her influences were not just socialist, but hardcore communist.

The VP vetting process brought renewed scrutiny to comments Bass made about Cuba’s communist dictator Fidel Castro. In a statement following Castro’s death in 2016, Bass referred to him as “Comandante en Jefe” and described his death as “a great loss to the people of Cuba.”

The honorific “Commandante en Jefe”—which translates to “commander in chief”—was criticized by Florida Democrats for being excessively deferential to a dictator with a long history of human rights abuses.

In an interview with MSNBC on Sunday, Bass attempted to walk back her use of the term. “I have talked to my colleagues in the House about that, and it’s certainly something that I would not say again,” Bass said. “I have always supported the Cuban people, and the relationship that Barack Obama and Biden had in their administration in terms of opening up relations.”

Afghan Migrant Arrested for Child Rape a Month After Raping Another Child

Police have arrested an Afghan migrant in Dortmund for the alleged rape of a 13-year-old girl, just a month after he had been arrested for allegedly raping an 11-year-old.

Afghan Zubyr S., who only has temporary residency rights in Germany, allegedly raped his second underage victim on Friday, July 24th. Police confirmed his arrest a few days later.

According to a report from German tabloid Bild, the 23-year-old migrant lured the 13-year-old into a hallway and raped her. He was soon caught, however, due to his underage victim giving the police an accurate description.

The incident comes just a month after police arrested the Afghan for allegedly raping an 11-year-old girl in the same city. Prosecutor Börge Klepping confirmed the allegations, saying that the case was a similar incident.

Despite the allegations, the migrant was only kept in jail for 12 days and was let out on remand on July 3rd, because the court did not consider him a flight risk.

“He had previously been involved in a narcotics offence but not in connection with sexual offences. He has a permanent domicile, and therefore there was no reason to hold the refugee,” prosecutor Klepping said.

Zubyr S. arrived in Germany during the height of the migrant crisis in October 2015 and applied for asylum in January 2016.

He is said to have committed his first crime in Germany just 21 months after arriving and has been accused of two counts of causing injury, two counts of serious bodily injury, and four counts of drug offences.

Five Eyes in Talks to Reboot ‘Critical’ Group to Combat Dependence on China: Report

The UK is reportedly in talks with Five Eyes allies the United States, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand about resurrecting the defunct ‘Critical Five’ group which would focus on tackling the West’s dependency on China in supply chains.

Critical Five was formed in 2012 to define the assets, networks, and facilities deemed as “critical infrastructure” for the alliance’s national security. It fell out of use in 2015 after they could not agree on the six key areas deemed most critical.

There have reportedly been “feverish discussions” to get the group to reform, with sources telling The Telegraph: “Clearly, everyone is panicked. They haven’t met for five years, but fears over supplies and our ability to secure ourselves have grown so great that the governments are resurrecting this historic body in order to tackle security together.

“Many in the Government with long memories remember the early work of the Critical Five and see it as an oven-ready structure to address this challenge on a multilateral basis.”

Politicians were already warning of the West’s dependency on China in its supply chains in the early months of the pandemic. It exposed the UK’s lack of preparedness when it found itself reliant on countries like China and Turkey for the delivery of crucial medical equipment which it could not produce to scale at home.

Sino-sceptic and former Tory Party leader Sir Iain Duncan Smith welcomed the report. However, he told The Telegraph on Wednesday that Critical Five “should have been sitting the whole time, it should have never stopped sitting in the first place, it should have been constantly on the game”.

Last week, Sir Iain called for an “alliance of the free world” to stand up to China, following increasing reports of abuse of the Uighur Muslim minority, the Falun Gong, and Hong Kong pro-democracy activists.

The Five Eyes are already reportedly working on a partnership to develop an alternative to Huawei, which the Pentagon says is run by the Chinese military. The BBC reported on Thursday that analysts had estimated Huawei to have become the biggest seller of mobile phones worldwide for the first time, beating out South Korean company Samsung.

Groupings being considered in the Huawei alternative development include the Five Eyes, as well as members of the G7 (Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, UK, and the U.S.) as well as other regional democracies India and South Korea. Japan is reportedly interested in joining the Five Eyes, which would be a first for the intelligence-sharing union currently comprised of solely Anglosphere nations.

The British government is also reportedly in talks with Samsung and Japan’s NEC, as well as considering state aid for British tech companies, to find alternatives to the Chinese state-run product.

Tensions between the United Kingdom and China have increased since the government announced it would ban all new purchases of Huawei 5G from 2021. Britain’s offer to extend British residency rights to Hong Kongers after the Communist superpower imposed harsh laws on the city that effectively banned dissent has also angered Beijing.

Two Former Mexican Federales Face Drug Charges in U.S.

Two former top-ranking Mexican federal police officers face drug trafficking charges in the U.S. for allegedly working for the Sinaloa Cartel.

This week, a federal grand jury handed down a superseding indictment in the case against Mexico’s former Public Security Secretary Genaro Garcia Luna. The superseding indictment adds Luis Cardenas Palomino and Ramon Pequeno Garcia to three of the five criminal charges initially filed against Garcia Luna. Both Cardenas and Pequeno are not in federal custody and are believed to be in Mexico, while Garcia Luna has been in U.S. custody since his arrest in December 2019.

The superseding indictment claims that all three former cops took millions in bribes from the Sinaloa Cartel in exchange for not interfering with drug shipments. The former cops also allegedly leaked sensitive information about investigations. The indictment also alleges the officers would target Sinaloa Cartel rivals for arrest to thin the competition.

In December, federal authorities arrested Garcia Luna on several international drug trafficking conspiracy and bribery charges. The allegations against Garcia Luna first surfaced through witness testimony in the highly publicized trial of Sinaloa Cartel boss Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman. During the trial, witnesses testified that cartel operators bribed the upper echelons of Mexico’s government–including former Presidents Enrique Pena Nieto, and Felipe Calderon.

State Cops Seize Cartel Weapons Caches in Mexican Border City

PIEDRAS NEGRAS, Coahuila — In recent weeks, Mexican authorities made several arrests of gunmen and seized caches of weapons tied to the Cartel Del Noreste faction of Los Zetas. The cartel continues to be the dominant criminal organization in the region.

This week, Coahuila state police arrested three men in the Doctores neighborhood as part of an investigation into CDN-Los Zetas activity in the city, law enforcement sources revealed to Breitbart Texas. During the arrest, authorities searched the gunmen’s vehicle and seized seven AK-47 rifles, three AR-15 rifles, and a pistol. Authorities also seized makeshift road spikes and drugs.

Investigators charged the gunmen on drug trafficking charges at the state level and sent them to a prison in Saltillo, the Delegate for the Coahuila Attorney General’s Office Victor Gerardo Rodriguez Lozano revealed to Breitbart Texas. The gunmen are expected to undergo their trial in state court, however, authorities also provided the information to their federal counterparts.

A few days before, three other gunmen also believed to be tied with the CDN-Los Zetas were arrested. The case took place in mid-July in the Gobernadores neighborhood when a squad of Coahuila state officers raided a home and arrested two men and a woman possessing tactical gear, uniforms, and six AK-47 rifles.

The recent arrests are tied to an investigation into the CDN-Los Zetas following a terrorist-style attack in November 2019, when approximately 150 gunmen from Nuevo Laredo raided the town of Villa Union in Coahuila. Since then, authorities have focused on targeting the CDN-Los Zetas operations in the area and arrested 12 gunmen. As Breitbart Texas reported, one of the gunmen made an international most-wanted list.

Russian flag carrier Aeroflot will demand foreign visitors provide negative Covid-19 test BEFORE flying to Russia

You didn't think they were going to make it too easy, did you? Russia's national airline has decided that if it's going to ferry international passengers into the country, they'll have to prove they are coronavirus-free first.

What's more, the test must be performed within 72 hours of departure. Which, in some countries is trickier than you may think, given the demand for tests versus the capacity to perform them.

Flights to and from Russia are set to resume on Saturday. The first routes to open connect with Britain, Turkey, and the rather more exotic destination of Tanzania.

“Foreign citizens planning to fly into Russia, including transit passengers, are required to provide a negative Covid-19 PCR-test result in order to check-in and board the flight," the company said. “Passengers must be tested within 72 hours of the flight departure. They will also be required to complete a special form during the flight.”

Earlier, TASS reported, citing the Federal Air Transport Agency, that Russian airlines have the right to refuse admission to foreigners without documents confirming the absence of coronavirus. The agency specified that the final decision would be made by the flight operator.

Aeroflot also noted that only the polymerase chain reaction (PCR) method of Covid-19 testing would be deemed sufficient proof. “Please note that Aeroflot only accepts results from PCR-method Covid-19 tests. No other test results, including antibody tests, will be accepted. In Moscow, express PCR Covid-19 tests are available in Sheremetyevo and Vnukovo airports as well as in a number of state and private clinics,” the statement said. But these, of course, are rather useless unless you're flying out from Russia.
