US Appeals Court Overturns Boston Marathon Bomber’s Death Sentence

A US Circuit Court of Appeals overturned the death penalty for Dzhokhar Tsarnaev for his part in the Boston Marathon bombing.

Dzhokhar Tsarnaev was found guilty in all 30 charges in April, 2015 and was sentenced to death.

17 of the charges carried the possibility of the death penalty.

Three people were killed in the Boston Marathon bombings. A police officer later was shot dead by the terrorist brothers.

The jury deliberated for 14 hours before reaching today’s verdict.

Dzhokhar was filmed planting his bomb before the explosion.

Records show the Boston Marathon bombers may have used their EBT cards to fund their terror spree that left 4 dead and 260 injured.

The 1st US Circuit Court of Appeals in Boston has overturned the death sentence handed down to Dzhokhar Tsarnaev in 2015 for his part in the 2013 Boston Marathon bombing.

Tsarnev’s conviction for helping to carry out the bombing that left three people dead and over 260 injured is being upheld, but a new trial will take place to determine a different sentence.

His attorney argued in December 2019 to the Appeals Court that his 26-year-old client’s death sentence was the product of an unfair trial, one which took place in Boston, despite objections. Attorney Daniel Habib claimed the city’s anger over the attack “filtered” through the jury and the massive media coverage of the event meant no juror could be impartial.

Court Docs: Epstein Allegedly Joked with Victim that Bill Clinton Owed Him ‘Favors’

Thousands of newly unsealed court documents involving Jeffrey Epstein indicate that the late-sex predator joked, according to the testimony of one of his alleged victims, that former President Bill Clinton owed him “favors.”

Virginia Roberts Guiffre, one of Epstein’s most high-profile victims, told lawyers in 2011 that Clinton was a guest at Epstein’s private estate in the U.S. Virgin Islands shortly after leaving the White House. Guiffre, who was 17-years-old at the time of the visit, claims that Clinton stayed at the estate with “two young girls” from New York.

Clinton’s appearance was surprising as, according to Giuffre, “orgies were a constant thing that took place” at Epstein’s Caribbean estate.

“I remember asking Jeffrey what’s Bill Clinton doing here kind of thing, and he laughed it off and said, ‘Well he owes me a favor,” Guiffre told the lawyer in 2011.

“He never told me what favors they were,” Guiffre added. “I never knew. I didn’t know if he was serious. It was just a joke… He told me a long time ago that everyone owes him favors. They’re all in each other’s pockets.”

Giuffre’s recollections were made public on Thursday when a federal court judge unsealed a trove of documents pertaining to Epstein and his one-time girlfriend and alleged co-conspirator, Ghislaine Maxwell. The documents were part of a defamation lawsuit brought against Maxwell by Guiffre in 2015.

The records bring back into the spotlight Clinton’s longtime association with Epstein. The late-sex predator was a prominent donor to both of the former president’s successful White House bids. Their relationship appeared to blossom after Clinton left the office, with the former president taking at least 26 different flights on Epstein’s private plane— dubbed the “Lolita Express”—between 2001 and 2003. On at least five of those excursions, the flight logs denote that Clinton was not accompanied by any Secret Service personnel.

It is unclear, however, if on any on those flights Clinton was accompanied by Epstein. The former president’s office did not return requests for comment on this story.

Donald Trump: ‘China Must Be Very Happy’ Democrats Using Coronavirus to ‘Screw Up’ Election

President Donald Trump said Friday that China was likely delighted Democrats were trying to implement mail-in voting in the 2020 election, which he said would lead to a “catastrophic” result.

“They’re using the China virus, China must be very happy about it, because they hit us with a virus and now they screw up an election like you will never see,” Trump said about the Democrats.

The president spoke to reporters at the White House after hosting leaders of the National Association of Police Organizations on Friday to discuss law enforcement.

Trump previewed a disruptive Election Day on November 3, noting that it would take several days or even weeks to count all the ballots.

“It’s going to be a very, very sad day for this country,” Trump said.

The president said that he supported Americans voting absentee, but that the electoral system was not prepared for universal mail-in voting.

“Universal mail-in [votes] are a disaster,” Trump said.

He recalled that voters voted in elections in World War II and World War I and should be able to vote during the coronavirus.

Trump boasted that he was confident with his chances at winning re-election, even with some corporate media polls showing him tracking below Biden in key swing states.

“We’re going to do very well in the election, nobody wants that date more than me, I wish we would move it up,” he said. “Move it up. You’re not prepared for what they’re doing.”

Trump told the media to prepare for tumultuous election night on November 3.

“This will be catastrophic for our nation. You’ll see it. I’m always right about things like this.”

NBC’s Peter Alexander asked Trump why he was not spending more of his time pressing for more election security funding instead of warning about mail-in voting.

“Peter, you know nothing about my energy. OK?” Trump replied. “You know nothing about what I am doing. Listen, you know nothing about what I do.”

Australia backs India over deadly border clashes with China

Australia has taken another subtle diplomatic swipe at China, this time over its long-running and deadly border dispute with India.

For decades, the world's two most populous nations have fought skirmishes along a stretch of land that divides the Chinese autonomous region of Tibet from India.

Last month, India said 20 of its soldiers had been killed in clashes with the People's Liberation Army at a disputed border site in the western Himalayas, in a major escalation of the standoff between the two nuclear powers.

An Indian army patrol had attempted to tear down temporary structures erected by the Chinese military on terrain claimed by New Delhi, setting off a brutal six-hour melee in sub-zero temperatures.

Now the ABC has learnt Barry O'Farrell, Australia's newly appointed High Commissioner to New Delhi, has indicated the Federal Government's support for India in the decades-long dispute.

"Australia urges restraint along the Line of Actual Control (LAC), and supports continued moves towards de-escalation," Mr O'Farrell said in a statement issued by the High Commission this week.

"As I told the External Affairs Minister of India [on Thursday], Australia opposes any attempts to unilaterally alter the status quo, which only serve to increase tension and the risk of instability.

"It is important that the bilaterally agreed principles and norms that have helped prevent escalation or miscalculation in the border areas over many decades continue to be observed."

National Institutes of Health Makes ‘Shrine’ to Anthony Fauci

The National Institutes of Health (NIH) created a “shrine” to honor Dr. Anthony Fauci, the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, according to a report on Friday.

Politico’s Playbook reported on Friday that people turned the areas by the NIH elevators into a “shrine” to honor Fauci:

The report follows as House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) told White House chief of staff Mark Meadows and Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin that coronavirus task force coordinator Deborah Birx was spreading misinformation.

“Deborah Birx is the worst,” Pelosi told Meadows and Mnuchin. “Wow, what horrible hands you’re in.”

However, she praised Fauci, saying he “came to his sense, and is now a hero.”

Pelosi also noted that Fauci has the record for most sold Topps baseball cards, stating, “They’ve sold more baseball cards of him than anyone in history.”

“That’s because he throws a wicked curveball. He’s really dedicated to no one catching anything,” Meadows replied.

Republicans have sparred with Fauci’s status as one of the premier authorities during the coronavirus outbreak.

Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY), an ophthalmologist who recently recovered from the coronavirus, said in May that Fauci is not the “end all” authority on the coronavirus response.

Paul asserted that state governments and localities should decide when to reopen, rather than to a national reopening strategy, contending that many models have overstated the number of coronavirus deaths that would come from the pandemic.

He said:

We ought to have a little bit of humility in our belief that we know what’s best for the economy. And, as much as I respect you, Dr. Fauci, I don’t think you’re the end-all. I don’t think you’re the one person that gets to make the decision.

Paul added, “We can listen to your advice, but there are people on the other sides saying that there’s not going to be a surge, and we can safely open the economy, and the facts will bear this out.”

In a statement on Friday, Angel Ureña, a spokesperson for Clinton, told Newsweek that the former president has “never been to Little St. James Island.”

“He’d not spoken to Epstein in well over a decade,” he said. “Well before his terrible crimes came to light.”

Ghislaine Maxwell’s lawyers tried to keep x-rated evidence related to pedophile Jeffrey Epstein from going public, but a judge denied the appeal and released damning docs on Thursday evening.

Epstein’s pimp, Ghislaine Maxwell is currently in federal custody awaiting trial.

"The View" co-host Meghan McCain tweeted on Friday that Dr. Anthony Fauci's recent comments before Congress showed why Republicans were angry amid shutdowns and restrictions related to the coronavirus pandemic.

She was responding to a video clip in which Rep. Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, asked Fauci whether the U.S. government should block protests in the wake of George Floyd's death. "Should government limit the protesting?" Jordan asked. Fauci, who said protesting without masks could spread the virus, said he wasn't sure how Jordan's question was "relevant."
