Water is the most important part of any sovereignty/territory.
The Fresh water bit AND the salt water Ocean bit.
We're told to watch the water but in reality possessive eyes are always fixed on water. That why the idea of 'pooling' sovereignty is or was in vogue - Nations with little water territory get to claim some under pooled sovereignty arrangements. Orin other words, colonialism.
