PROTESTERS MARCH IN SPRINGFIELD OVER ARRESTS MADE THE NIGHT BEFORE
SPRINGFIELD, Ore. – Protesters took to the street in Springfield in response to Wednesday night's clashes.
Isiah Wagoner, the leader of Minority Freedom Network, organized the protest. About 150 people showed up at Safeway on Q Street at about 7 p.m. From there, the crowd marched to Mayor Christine Lundberg's house where she addressed the crowd. She said that she is in full support of the Black Lives Matter movement.
"My hope is that we can have an understanding and we can have an agreement about how we can work together," Lundberg said.
She ended her speech by saying black lives matter and all lives matter.
The protesters then marched down Pioneer Parkway to Springfield Police headquarters. The goal of this was to bring attention to the protesters that were arrested Wednesday night in Thurston. Wagoner said the goal of tonight was to remain peaceful, because that is what both protesters and counter-protesters want.
"Public safety is when it comes to everybody's life out here being able to go to the protest and go home," Wagoner said. "That's what's important. I don't care if its an all lives matter, i don't care if its a black lives matter, we want to be safe. We want to go home and return to our loved ones."
The protest ended peaceful around 9:30 p.m. back at Safeway.

The implication is that these are Portland protesters but prolly from Eugene - unless they all hopped on a BUS south for the two-hour ride to Springfield.
