1part water to 3 parts methanol solution, heat to 330 and let separate out the waste product as you do. what's left will be 90% or more Quinine. Very simple extraction process. Nothing too hard about it. If it were hard, it would be more expensive.

heat to below melting point to ensure the structure stays in tact and you boil off as much of the additive as possible. I wouldn't leave it at 300+ F for long, just slowly increase it to that temp over a period of probably 20-30 minutes depending on how much you were working with. Grapefruit might offer a cleaner base product to work with. I'd wonder how much quinine is in a grapefruit, though.
