Jesus did not leave this subject open to easy confusion. Pray to the Father in the son's name. Not angels, and not in the name of Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Just in Jesus' name. I'm not specifically stating that using all 3 names is a terrible thing (could be a lot worse), but why not just do it that way Jesus told us to?
not trying to be divisive. do honestly wonder why Jesus' clear directive on this issue is contested. God bless you anon, and ALL Catholics.
