Roger Stone Provides Evidence that Corrupt and Dishonest Democrat Eric Swalwell Lied To AG Bill Barr

The Democrats and many in the media are citing an interview between Roger Stone and Howard Fineman as proof that Stone “blackmailed“ President Trump into commuting his sentence.

Of course, nothing could be further from the truth.

On national TV and in front of America, the Democrats berated, slandered and called the current US Attorney General a murderer. The Democrat led House Intelligence Committee performed the most disgusting and disrespectful ‘interview’ in US history during their attack of AG Barr.

They weren’t interested in the truth. They were after blood. There are numerous examples. One example was the exchange between prolific liar Eric Swalwell and AG Bill Barr.

In this exchange, where again Barr is not allowed time to answer the California Representative’s questions, Swalwell claims President Trump commuted Roger Stone’s sentence in an effort to protect Trump himself. This lie ignores the fact that Stone was a victim of the corrupt and criminal Mueller investigation based on the lie that Trump colluded with Russia, which they knew was false the day the investigation started.

Stone was a casualty of the investigation built on the lie the Russia hacked the DNC. He suffered under corrupt Mueller prosecutors who requested corrupt Judge Amy Berman Jackson be assigned the case (which she was), and who assigned a corrupt jury that hated Trump while preventing Stone from bringing up arguements in the case that would prove his innocence.

Democrat Swalwell then lies and claims in the exchange below that Stone “lied to save Trump’s butt”. Then Swalwell quotes the corrupt Obama holdover prosecutors who eventually asked that 67-year-old Stone be sentenced to 9 years in prison – an outrageous unreasonably excessive sentence considering rapists get 3 years and Stone’s “lie” was a set up by corrupt Rep. Adam Schiff working with the Mueller gang related to an immaterial and insignificant matter.

Then Swalwell lies about Stone’s conversation with Howard Fineman where Swalwell claims Stone said he didn’t work with the corrupt prosecutors because he was trying to protect President Trump. (see at the 2:30 mark in video below):

‘North Korea TV can learn from them’: Netanyahu lashes out at Israeli media over ‘one-sided’ coverage of protests

Israeli media is not reporting on the protests against him, but taking part in them, PM Benjamin Netanyahu said as he launched several attacks on the country’s press, which he insisted was acting “North Korea-style.”

The demonstrations, which have been underway for months in Israel, are “being fueled especially by the media who have enlisted themselves [to the protests] in a manner the like of which I can’t remember,” Netanyahu said following a cabinet meeting on Sunday.

They are not reporting on the protests, but participating in them, and fueling them.

The journalists completely neglect the violence on the part of the demonstrators, he argued, referring to a police officer, who was recently seriously injured and required surgery. “Daily calls to murder the prime minister and his family” are also being ignored, the PM added.

“There has never been such a distorted mobilization” of the media in the country, he said. “I would have said Soviet, but it’s already North Korean in manner.”

Netanyahu also used Facebook to slam the “one-sided” press, posting a comic which blamed the country’s Channels 12 and 13 of pouring garbage into the heads of their viewers.

In the comment with the picture, he labeled the broadcasters “a propaganda arm for the anarchistic left-wing protests,” trying to “brainwash the public” in order to overthrow him, “a strong rightist prime minister.”

“North Korean television can learn from them,” he wrote, but expressed confidence that the Israeli people weren’t falling for those insinuations.

AUSTRIA CONFIRMS OPCW REPORT ON SKRIPAL FAKING BY THE BRITISH – VIENNA EXPOSES FINANCIAL TIMES LIES AND COVER-UP

Austria officially confirmed this week that the British Government’s allegation that Novichok, a Russian chemical warfare agent, was used in England by GRU, the Russian military intelligence service, in March 2018, was a British invention.

Investigations in Vienna by four Austrian government ministries, the BVT intelligence agency, and by Austrian prosecutors have revealed that secret OPCW reports on the blood testing of Sergei and Yulia Skripal, copies of which were transferred to the Austrian government, did not reveal a Russian-made nerve agent.

Two reports, published in Vienna this week by the OE media group and reporter Isabelle Daniel, reveal that the Financial Times publication of the cover-page of one of the OPCW reports exposed a barcode identifying the source of the leaked documents was the Austrian government. The Austrian Foreign Ministry and the Bundesamt für Verfassungsschutz und Terrorismusbekämpfung (BVT), the domestic intelligence agency equivalent to MI5 or FBI, have corroborated the authenticity of the documents.

The Austrian disclosures also reveal that in London the Financial Times editor, Roula Khalaf, four of the newspaper’s reporters, and the management of the Japanese-owned company have fabricated a false and misleading version of the OPCW evidence and have covered up British government lying on the Skripal blood testing and the Novichok evidence.

On Wednesday afternoon this week, OE24, a news portal of the OE media group in Vienna, broke the first story (lead image, right) that the barcode found on the OPCW document photograph published in London had been traced to several Austrian state ministries. The next day, OE political editor Isabelle Daniel reported the Austrian Foreign, Defence and Economics Ministries had received copies of the barcoded OPCW dossier, and that the Justice Ministry and prosecutors were investigating “potential moles”.

Daniel also quoted a Foreign Ministry source as saying its copy of the documents had been securely stored in its disarmament department safe, and that there were “no tips” the leak had come from there. Daniel also quoted a BVT spokesman as confirming the authenticity of the OPCW file had been verified. “We have checked it recently. Officially it has not come to us.”

18 officers injured in clashes with Berlin anti-mask protesters

A large protest in Berlin against mandatory mask rules and other anti-coronavirus measures ended in clashes and arrests, after police ordered the demonstrators to disperse for refusing to obey social distancing guidelines.

Police estimate up to 20,000 people attended Saturday’s march through the German capital, with some reports putting the figure far higher. Demonstrators, most of them not wearing masks, carried placards with slogans against Covid-19 restrictions, vaccinations, and face “muzzles.” Officers intervened several hours into the protest, claiming that the participants were not adhering to social distancing rules.

Footage from RT’s Ruptly video agency shows organizers, who were addressing the crowd from a stage, being forcibly removed by police as onlookers shouted and booed. Officers then used loudspeakers to order the protesters to disperse. Several arrests were made after some of the demonstrators refused to leave the area. Footage shows some of the activists being carried away by police in riot gear.

Bank Of Ireland Is Now Imposing Negative Rates On Cash Held In Pensions

If you're holding your pension with the Bank of Ireland, you are now officially being charged to do so.

In a move that we're sure is going to have absolutely no consequences, the bank is starting to impose negative interest rates on cash held in pensions, according to The Irish Examiner. The bank is applying a rate of 0.65% on pension pots, which means customers will now pay the bank $65 on every $10,000 held.

The bank commented: "European Central Bank interest rates have been negative since 2014. Since then banks have been subject to negative interest rates for holding funds overnight and market indications are that rates will remain low for some time."

It continued: "As a result, we have applied negative rates on deposits for large institutional and corporate customers since 2016. We recently wrote to 14 investment and pension trustee firms to inform them about a rate change to their accounts, which is reflective of the negative interest rate environment."

"The average amount held on deposit by investment and pension trustee firms is in excess of around €100m, therefore it is no longer sustainable for the Bank to continue with the current rate of interest. We provided 3 months’ advance notification of this rate change to our investment and pension trustee firm customers," the bank concluded.

Ulster Bank is also considering similar rates in the future. The bank's CEO, Jane Howard, said: "In terms of Ulster Bank, we did introduce negative rates earlier this year and we've introduced it for larger businesses with balances of over €1m."

She continued: "As I sit here today we have no plans to charge negative interest rates for our personal customers but given the way everything happens, like Covid, so unexpectedly, it is not something I can rule out forever."

'Wrong!': President Trump clashes with Dr. Fauci over surge of COVID-19 cases

President Donald Trump fiercely rejected Dr. Anthony Fauci's viewpoint on why the U.S. has experienced a new surge of COVID-19 cases.

Dr. Fauci testified before the U.S. House Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Crisis on Friday. Fauci, a top member of the White House coronavirus task force, gave his explanation as to why new cases of coronavirus in European countries are decreasing while surging in the United States.

"If you look at what happened in Europe when they shut down or locked down or went into shelter-in-place. … They really did it to the tune of about 95-plus percent of the country did that," Fauci said. "When you actually look at what we did, even though we shut down, even though we created a great deal of difficulty, we really functionally shut down only about 50 percent in the sense of the totality of the country."

Trump staunchly responded to a CBS News video of Fauci's comments by saying, "Wrong! We have more cases because we have tested far more than any other country, 60,000,000. If we tested less, there would be less cases. How did Italy, France & Spain do? Now Europe sadly has flare ups. Most of our governors worked hard & smart. We will come back STRONG!"

The U.S. has tested approximately 60 million people for coronavirus. The European country with the most COVID-19 testing is the U.K., with over 16 million. Germany has tested 8 million, total testing for Italy and Spain is nearly 7 million, and France is at 3 million.

The U.S. has the fourth-most COVID-19 tests per one million population among countries most severely impacted by the coronavirus pandemic, trailing Qatar, Russia, and the U.K., which has the highest testing rate in the world.

The U.S. has 4.7 million confirmed COVID-19 cases, the most in the world. The U.S. also has the most novel coronavirus deaths, nearly 158,000.

Trump isn't the only one to clash with the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases over his recent testimony. Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) grilled Fauci during Friday's hearing about the impact that nationwide protests have had on the spread of coronavirus. Trump retweeted the video of the tense exchange between Jordan and Fauci.

"Great job by Jim Jordan, and also some very good statements by Tony Fauci," Trump wrote on Twitter. "Big progress being made!"

Anti-Semitism payouts are an ‘abuse of members money,’ trade union warns Labour Party

Britain’s Labour party is dishing out “substantial damages” to staffers who accused the party of anti-Semitism. However, new Labour leader Keir Starmer is facing backlash for this tactic of handling the issue.

Labour’s opponents have long accused the party of anti-Semitism, and a BBC documentary last year promised to shed light on these accusations. In it, seven former party members and a host of Israel advocates claimed that the party had stymied investigations into anti-Jewish sentiment within its ranks. The party condemned the documentary as “biased,” and accused the former members of having “personal and political axes to grind.”

These former members then sued the party, which agreed last week to pay “substantial damages” in the hundreds of thousands of pounds to settle the matter.

Starmer has made stamping out anti-Semitism a top priority, but the party’s most influential backers don’t agree with handing over cash payouts.

“It’s an abuse of members’ money,” ‘Unite’ leader Len McCluskey told the Observer on Saturday. “A lot of it is Unite’s money and I’m already being asked all kinds of questions by my executive. It’s as though a huge sign has been put up outside the Labour party with ‘queue here with your writ and get your payment over there.’”

With 1.2 million members, Unite is Britain’s second-largest trade union. It is also the Labour Party’s largest donor, and has coughed more than £7 million for the party since the start of last year. A withdrawal of its funding would leave the party at risk of insolvency, especially considering the more than 30 anti-Semitism lawsuits it may still have to settle.

McCluskey told the Observer that there is “no doubt” that his union will demand a review of the money it donates to the party. “It would be a mistake if anybody took Unite for granted,” he remarked. “I think that would be a mistake.”

Minneapolis Police Department Advises Residents to Give In to Criminals

The Minneapolis Police Department is advising residents of the city to “Be prepared to give up your cell phone and purse/wallet” if approached by robbers, and “Do not argue or fight with the criminal. Do as they say.”

The “robbery prevention tips” were circulated by the department and reported by local ABC affiliate KSTP-5. They advise that the city is suffering an increase in robberies and carjackings, especially in the 3rd Precinct — the area of the city in which George Floyd was killed in police custody on Memorial Day, and rioters destroyed police headquarters.

Other cities have reported dramatic increases in crime, including shootings and murders, since the Black Lives Matter protests and riots erupted.

One Minneapolis resident who refused to give in without a fight was 99-year-old Evelyn Johnson, who fought with an intruder: “”He thought he was just going to cover my mouth and smother me, but that didn’t happen. I fought him. We wrestled for quite a while, according to all my bruises,” she told KSTP.

The Democrat-dominated Minneapolis City Council unanimously approved a resolution in June to abolish the police department — much to the chagrin of local leaders in the black community, who spoke out against the plan in July.

The local Minneapolis Star-Tribune reported that local black leaders had called the plan to abolish or defund the police “Egregious, grotesque, absurd, crazy, ridiculous.”

Ron Johnson: ‘Corruption at the Highest Levels’ During Obama Admin Investigation of Trump’s 2016 Campaign

Sunday, during an appearance on Fox News Channel’s “Sunday Morning Futures,” Sen. Ron Johnson (R-WI) reacted to an interview former Obama adviser Valerie Jarrett gave to Maria Bartiromo earlier in the week.

Johnson dismissed Jarrett’s remarks that downplayed former President Barack Obama’s role in a 2016 investigation into the Trump presidential campaign, adding there was “corruption at the highest levels.”

“Well, you will notice she didn’t answer your question,” he said. “She just talked about, in general, what the process should be. That’s not the process they followed. It is very clear that there was corruption at the highest levels of, certainly, the FBI. We have evidence of it. I’m looking forward to John Durham, wrapping up his investigation. I personally believe that the intelligence community was involved in this thing.”

Johnson continued, “Their initial goal was to exonerate Hillary Clinton, when — so that she could win the election. When she lost the election, their goals shifted to first — first and foremost, I think, sabotaging the Trump administration, which they have done a pretty good job of, also, I think initiating this diversionary operation, the smokescreen to cover up their wrongdoing. The fact that they — they used all the awesome powers of their agencies to investigate their political opponent. They didn’t want that revealed. It’s being revealed right now.”

“So, again, Valerie Jarrett simply isn’t answering the question,” he added. “That’s our job. We need to get the information. But, as I stated earlier, they still have so many of their supporters in these agencies. They are doing a pretty good job at hiding the ball. It’s hard to extract the information. But I’m a pretty tenacious guy.”

Red Flags Soar As Big Pharma Will Be Exempt From COVID-19 Vaccine Liability Claims

Last week we warned readers to be cautious about new COVID-19 vaccines, highlighting how key parts of the clinical trials are being skipped as big pharma will not be held accountable for adverse side effects for administering the experimental drugs.

A senior executive from AstraZeneca, Britain's second-largest drugmaker, told Reuters that his company was just granted protection from all legal action if the company's vaccine led to damaging side effects.

"This is a unique situation where we as a company simply cannot take the risk if in … four years the vaccine is showing side effects," said Ruud Dobber, a top exec at AstraZeneca.

"In the contracts we have in place, we are asking for indemnification. For most countries, it is acceptable to take that risk on their shoulders because it is in their national interest," said Dobber, adding that Astra and regulators were making safety and tolerability a top priority.

AstraZeneca is one of the 25 pharmaceutical companies across the world, testing experimental drugs that could be used to combat the deadly virus. And, of course, if testing yields positive results, AstraZeneca could manufacture hundreds of millions of doses, with no legal recourse if side effects are seen.

European officials told Reuters that product liability was a significant discussion to secure new vaccine drugs from Pfizer, Sanofi, and Johnson & Johnson.

As for the US, well, when it comes to the legal framework around vaccines, the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) already has a law called the Public Readiness and Emergency Preparedness (PREP) Act, which provides immunity to vaccine companies if something goes wrong.

With AstraZeneca, and many US big pharma companies rushing COVID-19 vaccines to market with governments granting them immunity if the vaccine has side effects, all suggest corporate elites and government regulators have very little faith in these drugs.

In the swing state of Florida, the state’s largest police union is throwing its heft behind President Donald Trump in a very big way.

In an interview Friday on Fox News, Florida Police Benevolent Association President John Kazanjian said his organization decided in a “unanimous” vote to endorse the president, something he said “carried a lot of weight.”

“We’re 30,000 strong. We go from the panhandle to Daytona, to Tampa down to Miami and the Keys,” Kazanjian said.

While the association hadn’t made a presidential endorsement in eight years, Kazanjian said recent events pushed him to act. He recounted that he called an “emergency meeting via conference phone” about the issue last week.

“I spelled it out what’s going on,” Kazanjian said.

“Not just in Florida but across this country — that, ‘Hey, you know what, we’re getting beat up. We’re being used like a punching bag and we’re tired of it and President Donald Trump has been there for us. He supported us.'”

And thus, he was able to get his fellow members on board.

“I got a motion to endorse President Donald Trump for this 2020 presidential election,” Kazanjian said.

In a close state, that might end up making a serious difference.

Kazanjian ended up noting the endorsement could affect the vote of “[n]ot only the 30,000 members that we have down in Florida. Don’t forget about our friends and families, retirees.”

“I believe the last cycle, we also put the president on top and guess what? We’re going to come out in force this time to get him over that top.”

“So, you know what I did? I rescinded his endorsement,” Kazanjian added.

Kazanjian was more specific in a statement to Fox News.

“When Michael Weinstein came to the Palm Beach County PBA seeking our endorsement, he expressed to us that he supported and respected the police and law enforcement in general,” he said.

“He never expressed the view that the police are militarized, that unmarked police cars caused distrust, or called for more civilian review boards, all of which he later said to the Sun-Sentinel to perhaps win their endorsement. Had we known he supported these drastic changes to policing, which we strongly oppose, we would have never endorsed him.”

Kazanjian said in the Fox interview that he would be meeting Trump at the White House later in the day to hand him the endorsement letter: “I’m proud to do it,” he said.

Police unions aren’t necessarily Republican, even if law enforcement tends to be solidly red territory.

Aleksandr Lukashenko asked the participants of the meeting how things were with the provision of foreign credit assistance to Belarus.

“What are our partners’ requirements? It was announced that they can provide Belarus with $940 million in so-called rapid financing. How are things here?” the head of state inquired.

At the same time, he stressed that additional conditions which do not apply to the financial part are unacceptable for the country.

“We hear the demands, for example, to model our coronavirus response on that of Italy. I do not want to see the Italian situation to repeat in Belarus. We have our own country and our own situation,” the president said.

According to the president, the World Bank has showed interest in Belarus’ coronavirus response practices.

“It is ready to fund us ten times more than it offered initially as a token of commendation for our efficient fight against this virus. The World Bank has even asked the Healthcare Ministry to share the experience. Meanwhile, the IMF continues to demand from us quarantine measures, isolation, a curfew. This is nonsense. We will not dance to anyone’s tune,” said the president.

Governors proclaim chicken wings are not a meal

The pandemic has made Governors so power hungry that they are now telling restaurants what counts as a meal.

States like California and New York are forcing restaurants and bars to only serve alcohol with meals.

That prompted some establishments to add special menu items so that patrons who just wanted a drink didn’t have to order an entire meal.

But now that tactic has caught the eye of Comrade-Governors Newsom and Cuomo.

They have decided that not only is it within their power to tell restaurants if they are allowed to serve drinks and food, but these Governors also claim the power to dictate what counts as a meal.

The dictator of California officially decreed that buffalo chicken wings are not a meal.

Nor are reheated frozen entrees, “pizza bites (as opposed to a pizza)”, or “any small portion of a dish that may constitute a main course when it is not served in a full portion or when it is intended for sharing in small portions.”

And the dictator of New York said the food available has to be “More than just hors d’oeuvres, chicken wings, you had to have some substantive food. The lowest level of substantive food were sandwiches.”

There you have it, sandwiches are a meal, chicken wings are not. So says the politburo.

Syria says US oil firm signed illegal deal with Kurdish rebels to steal oil

Syria’s foreign ministry said on Sunday that a US oil company had signed an agreement with Kurdish-led rebels who control northeastern oilfields in what it described as an illegal deal aimed at “stealing” Syria’s crude, reports Reuters.

A foreign ministry statement, published on state media, did not name the firm involved in the deal with the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), an alliance that seized swathes of north and east Syria from Daesh with US military help.

The statement did not give details on the agreement. There was no immediate response from SDF officials to a Reuters‘ request for comment. There was no immediate comment from US officials.

Damascus “condemns in the strongest terms the agreement signed between al-Qasd militia (SDF) and an American oil company to steal Syria’s oil under the sponsorship and support of the American administration”, the statement said.

“This agreement is null and void and has no legal basis,” it said, adding that it was a violation of Syrian sovereignty.

Syria produced around 380,000 barrels of oil per day before a civil war erupted following a crackdown on protests in 2011, with Iran and Russia backing President Bashar al-Assad’s government and the United States supporting the opposition.

Damascus lost control of most oil producing fields in a stretch east of the Euphrates River in Deir al-Zor. Western sanctions have also hit the energy industry.

US President Donald Trump has said that despite a military pullback from northeast Syria, a small number of American forces would remain “where they have oil”. The Pentagon said late last year that oilfield revenues would go to the SDF.

Search Ends for 7 Marines and 1 Sailor Who Went Missing After AAV Accident Near California

The seven Marines and one sailor who've been missing since their amphibious assault vehicle sank in the Pacific Ocean on Thursday are believed to be dead, ending an extensive 40-hour search-and-rescue mission.

Officials with the 15th Marine Corps Expeditionary Unit announced early Sunday that leadership determined little likelihood the service members survived the accident. Sixteen troops with that unit were in the AAV during amphibious training near San Clemente Island when their vehicle began filling with water off San Diego's coast.

Eight of the 16 escaped, and one of those Marines later died. Two others remain hospitalized in critical condition.

"It is with a heavy heart, that I decided to conclude the search and rescue effort," Col. Christopher Bronzi, the 15th MEU's commanding officer, said in a statement. "The steadfast dedication of the Marines, Sailors, and Coast Guardsmen to the persistent rescue effort was tremendous."

The Marine Corps hasn't released any of the fallen service members' identities, pending family notification.

The accident prompted the Marine Corps' top general to halt all water operations for the service's fleet of decades-old AAVs. Commandant Gen. David Berger tweeted on Sunday that the difficult decision to suspend the search-and-rescue operation was made only after "all resources were exhausted."

"I know all of us in the USMC family are extremely saddened following the announcement of the end of SAR operations," he said. "… Our prayers continue to be with the family and friends of the 8 Marines and one Sailor we lost."

Several Navy and Coast Guard ships, as well as Marine boats, were involved in the search for the sailor and Marines. Marine Corps, Navy and Coast Guard aircraft also participated in the search-and-rescue efforts, which spanned more than 1,000 nautical miles.

"Our thoughts and prayers have been, and will continue to be with our Marines' and Sailor's families during this difficult time," Bronzi said. "As we turn to recovery operations we will continue our exhaustive search for our missing Marines and Sailor."

Three AAVs and a rescue boat were heading back to a Navy ship Thursday night after training on San Clemente Island when one of the vehicles began filling with water. The crew flagged nearby personnel, but not everyone was found as the 26-ton vehicle sank.

The accident happened between 1,000 and 2,000 yards from one of the island's beaches. The vehicle sank in an area that's several hundred feet deep, and rescue divers can't reach it, Lt. Gen. Joseph Osterman, head of I Marine Expeditionary Force, said on Friday.

Berger said AAVs will only be permitted to be used on land until all the Corps' vehicles are inspected, and a root cause into Thursday's accident determined.

"After the investigation is done, we'll see as always if there are any trends," Berger said.

In January 2011, one Marine died after an AAV sank off California's coast during training. A September 2017 fire on another AAV in California left 15 injured.

Mnuchin on $600 unemployment benefit: We can't be 'paying people more to stay home'

Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin on Sunday threw cold water on the prospect of extending $600-per-week unemployment benefits for Americans for the duration of the COVID-19 pandemic.

In an interview with ABC's "This Week," Mnuchin suggested that the payments, which expired last week, led to some out-of-work Americans being "overpaid" and indicated that he believed they were slowing the return of workers to the labor market.

"Unemployment is supposed to be wage replacement, so it should be tied to some percentage of wages," he said. "The fact that we had a flat number was only an issue of an emergency where we had 30-year-old computer systems."

"I think on the concept we absolutely agree on enhanced unemployment," Mnuchin continued. "We want to fix the issue where in some cases people are overpaid, and we want to make sure there's the right incentives [to get back to work]."

"In certain cases where we're paying people more to stay home than to work, that's created issues in the entire economy," he added.

Democrats rejected a short-term stimulus deal from Mnuchin and White House chief of staff Mark Meadows last Thursday. The exact provisions of that package were not made public but included a temporary extension of unemployment benefits, according to Meadows.

President Trump and other white House officials have urged Democrats to agree to a short-term stimulus deal while Senate Republicans debate over the specifics of a longer-term package. Federal unemployment insurance payments totaling $600 per week expired on Friday, with no extension for the benefits in sight as millions of Americans faced rent payments on Aug. 1.

Are Members of Congress Immune From COVID-19? DC Mayor Bowser Seems to Think So

If you’re in Washington, DC and want to travel to a “high-risk” state for a “non-essential” reason? Guess what? You have to quarantine for 14-days.

Unless you’re a member of Congress, that is.

That’s right, members of Congress who attended Rep. John Lewis’s funeral in Georgia, which meets the status of a “high-risk” state by the district, were exempt from District Mayor Muriel Bowser’s quarantine mandate.

Here’s what the mandate, called “Requirement to Self-Quarantine After Non-Essential Travel During the COVID-19 Public Health Emergency,” which was issued July 24, says:

1. All residents and persons traveling to or from “high-risk areas” within the prior fourteen (14) days for non-essential travel must self-quarantine for fourteen (14) days following their return or arrival to the District.

2. Persons who are self-quarantining after non-essential travel must:

a. Stay at their residence or in a hotel room, leaving only for essential medical appointments or treatment or to obtain food and other essential goods when the delivery of food or other essential goods to their residence or hotel is not feasible;

b. Not invite or allow guests, other than caregivers, into their quarantined residence or hotel room; and

c. Self-monitor for symptoms of COVID-19 and seek appropriate medical advice or testing if COVID-19 symptoms arise.

3. Persons who are traveling through a “high-risk area,” such as through an airport or by vehicle, shall not be subject to this quarantine requirement.

There is no exemption for federal employees in this mandate. So by this mandate, any member of Congress who attended the funeral, which, based on photos, also failed to incorporate proper social distancing, should face quarantine. But Mayor Bowser came up with a bogus excuse to exempt them nonetheless.

“Government activity is essential, and the Capitol of the United States is exempt from the Mayor’s Order,” Mayor Bowser’s Press Secretary Susana Castillo told Just the News on Friday.

Castillo told Just the News that Lewis’s funeral, which was held at Ebenezer Baptist Church in Atlanta, Georgia, was “government activity.”

This is not the first time members of Congress and other federal employees had their own set of rules. Mayor Bowser’s “universal” mask mandate specifically exempted members of Congress.

Other groups that seem to be magically immune from contracting or spreading the coronavirus are Black Lives Matter protesters and rioters. If you happen to be both a member of Congress and a Black Lives Matter protester, you are probably immortal.

Seriously, if wearing masks and quarantining are mandated for the purpose of public health, is Mayor Bowser trying to tell us that anyone who was elected to Congress is immune from COVID-19 and/or can’t transmit the disease to other people? Maybe we could end the pandemic by changing the number of people that can serve in Congress to 327 million people and elect everyone to Congress so we can all enjoy this divine immunity to COVID-19 granted to members of Congress. Surely this must be done for the health and safety of our nation because obviously Mayor Bowser wouldn’t want to give the impression that there are different sets of rules for regular people and those in federal government. That would completely undermine the message that all these mandates are really about the public’s health.

Louisville Black Lives Matter Using 'Mafia Tactics' on Hispanic Business Owners

The Louisville cadre of Black Lives Matter activists sent a letter to many downtown businesses demanding they “diversify” their employees. But at least one Cuban-American business owner objected to the threatening tone of the letter and posted his displeasure on Facebook.

Fernando Martinez owns a restaurant group with several Hispanic eateries. He accused BLM of using “mafia tactics” and explained his position.

“There comes a time in life that you have to make a stand and you have to really prove your convictions and what you believe in,” Martinez wrote in a public Facebook post. “… All good people need to denounce this. How can you justified (sic) injustice with more injustice?”

The response by Black Lives Matter was immediate. Several members stood outside one of the business owner’s establishments demonstrating their displeasure and confronting Martinez when he came outside to talk to them.

“If you and I can sit down as human beings that we are without screaming at each other, without calling each other names, without offending each other, we can come to an understanding,” Martinez told one protester after explaining that he felt threatened by the way the demands were delivered to his business. “… How is destroying our business going to bring any justice?”

Not surprisingly, some of the business owners who were recipients of the BLM letter are caving to the pressure. The “demands” include “employ more Black people, purchase more inventory from Black retailers and undergo diversity training” according to the Louisville Courier-Journal.

Adequately represent the Black population of Louisville by having a minimum of 23% Black staff;

Purchase a minimum of 23% inventory from Black retailers or make a recurring monthly donation of 1.5% of net sales to a local Black nonprofit or organization;

Require diversity and inclusion training for all staff members on a bi-annual basis;

And display a visible sign that increases awareness and shows support for the reparations movement.

The protesters claim the business owners benefitted by the “gentrification” of the neighborhood when a public housing project was torn down. So the neighborhood is improved and this is an “injustice”? Sheesh.

One BLM activist, Phelix Crittendon, wasn’t very subtle.

Crittenden said several NuLu business owners have volunteered to sign a contract created by the protesters and are open to discussing their roles in gentrification.

But others have expressed anger and an unwillingness to work together, she said.

“How you respond to this is how people will remember you in this moment,” Crittenden said. “You want to be on the right side of justice at all times.”

And if you refuse to be on the “right side (my side) of justice at all times,”? Nice business you have there. Be a shame if anything happened to it because you weren’t on the “right side of justice at all times.”

Martinez’s pleas for understanding fell on deaf ears. His restaurant has been the target of vandalism and overt threats in recent days. In response, the Hispanic community is rallying around Martinez and offering their support for his resistance.

According to a press release, members of the city’s Cuban community will meet outside the NuLu restaurant at 4 p.m. Sunday to support the immigrant-owned business, which “has been subject to vandalism and extortion in recent days.”

The release states that La Bodeguita de Mima was forced to close July 24 during a demonstration that shut down East Market Street, at which several protesters presented Martinez with the list of demands and said he “better put the letter on the door so your business is not f*cked with.”

The restaurant remained closed the next two days because “management and staff were concerned about safety,” according to the release. “30+ staff members (mostly immigrants) were unable to earn a paycheck.”

That’s what you get for not being on the “right side of justice all the time.”

Dr. Deborah Birx Says Coronavirus Not Under Control In US

White House coronavirus response coordinator Dr. Deborah Birx said Sunday that the pandemic is not under control because Americans "are on the move" and that the virus is more widespread than in the early stages.

Appearing on CNN's "State of the Union," Birx said the coronavirus "is extraordinarily widespread. It's into the rural as equal urban areas."

Speaking from Delaware, Birx warned about a resurgence across the Midwest and said she is monitoring 20 states. She also noted that Americans have not made strong enough efforts to stay home.

“I can tell you across America right now people are on the move,” Birx said. “And so all of our discussions about social distancing and decreasing gatherings to under 10 … as I traveled around the country, I saw all of America moving.”

Birx warned that those living in rural areas "are not immune or protected from the virus" and echoed the warnings of wearing a mask and doing all hygiene procedures.

The comments from Birx come as House Speaker Nancy Pelosi on Sunday expressed a lack of confidence in her.

Tennessee lawmaker allegedly embezzled tax dollars for two years after feds alerted

Feds first received complaint in December 2016 but alleged fraud continued until January 2019, records show. Lawmaker used tax dollars for retirement, honeymoon, wedding and divorce, FBI says.

A Tennessee state senator continued embezzling federal grant money for years after the U.S. government first received a complaint about the alleged behavior, according to law enforcement documents that raise questions about why it took federal officials so long to act to stop an alleged $600,000 fraud.

The U.S. Attorney's Office for the Western District of Tennessee announced last week that state Sen. Katrina Robinson was being charged "for theft and embezzlement involving government programs and wire fraud." A grand jury handed up the charges on Thursday, returning a 48-count indictment against the politician.

The district attorney's office said that Robinson in 2015 obtained a $2.2 million Department of Health and Human Services grant for the Memphis medical training company, the Healthcare Institute. She is the director.

Robinson, who was elected to the state legislature in 2018, "stole in excess of $600,000 from THI," prosecutor's said, "by compensating herself in excess of what was allowed under the terms of the [grant] and by using Institute funds for payments and purchases for her own personal benefit and that of her immediate family."

Prosecutors allege the state lawmaker used federal funds for her wedding, honeymoon and divorce and to pay for electronics, a door for her home, a retirement fund and spa supplies.

The fraudulent transfers occurred between 2015 and 2019, the press release declared. Yet the criminal complaint states the government may have known about that criminal activity for over two years while it was taking place.

The complaint, a copy of which was provided to Just the News by the U.S. Attorney's Office, states that, in December of 2016, "an anonymous complainant made a complaint on the Department of Health and Human Services' (HHS) online complaint intake system" regarding Robinson's conduct.

The 2016 complaint "alleged that Katrina Robinson had purchased a Louis Vuitton handbag for $550.00 from the complainant on November 5, 2016 using THI funds," the document states. The charge further alleged that Robinson "had made other purchases of similar items in the same fashion."

"This complaint prompted the HHS Office of Inspector General to open an investigation, which was later joined by FBI," the document continues.

The document does not state when the Health and Human Services Inspector General actually opened the investigation—whether it was at the time the complaint was received or at some later date. Yet at least 23 of the alleged fraudulent exchanges and transfers occurred or began after December 2016, including the single largest payout of the surveyed transactions, a $54,000 deposit into a retirement account in April 2018.

Chinese Propaganda Campaign Blames Pandemic on U.S. Army Facility Closed in 1969

Regime officials, propaganda outlets seek to dodge China's role in coronavirus outbreak

Chinese propagandists are casting blame for the coronavirus pandemic on a U.S. military research lab that shuttered its biowarfare division more than 50 years ago.

Chinese diplomats and state-run media outlets have repeatedly spread the conspiracy that the coronavirus originated in Maryland's Fort Detrick research lab, often in response to criticism about the country's response to the pandemic.

"Speaking of the truth, we would like the U.S. government to tell the truth about the U.S. Army Medical Research Institute of Infectious Diseases at Fort Detrick, Maryland, to U.S. and the international community," Wang Wenbin, Chinese foreign ministry spokesman, said on July 22.

But President Richard Nixon closed down Fort Detrick's offensive biowarfare division in 1969—50 years before the first coronavirus cases were reported in Wuhan, China. Fort Detrick now focuses on defensive biological research as well as cancer research. U.S. officials have frequently criticized the Chinese government for using the Fort Detrick conspiracy theory—and other unproven allegations—to blame the outbreak on the United States.

"To have somebody … from the Chinese government come out and make a statement like that [is] completely ridiculous and it's irresponsible, and it doesn't get us to where we need to be," said Secretary of Defense Mark Esper in March.

Chinese propaganda organs have floated other countries as possible origins of the coronavirus, with a similar lack of evidence. Global Times, a leading mouthpiece for the regime, once insinuated that the virus could have originated in Spain, citing one research article that has not been peer-reviewed. The same outlet also claimed that the coronavirus was detected in Brazilian sewage back in November 2019.

Chinese social media accounts and U.S. conspiracy theorists have also smeared American military personnel as part of their Fort Detrick conspiracy, accusing one soldier of bringing the virus to China when she competed in the World Military Games held in Wuhan in late 2019. Chinese authorities, who exercise near-total control over what is disseminated on the Chinese internet, have allowed the rumors to spread. Global Times also covered the conspiracy theory in March, demanding that the United States release information about the U.S. delegation to the sports competition.

Fingers Point At SDF After The Assassination of Another Prominent Tribal Leader In Deir Ezzor

On August 2, sheikh Mutashar Hammoud al-Havel, a prominent leader of Al Uqaydat Arab tribe in northeast Syria, was assassinated.

Unidentified gunmen opened fire at the sheikh’s car in the town of al-Hawaij in southeast Deir Ezzor in the morning. The sheikh and his driver were killed on the spot. Another leader of Al Uqaydat, sheikh Ibrahim Khalil Aboud al-Jadaan al-Havel, was injured.

In a statement, Al Uqaydat held the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), which controls southeast Deir Ezzor, responsible for the assassination. The Kurdish-led group is yet to commented on the matter.

“There should be a stand against this act, and all other cowardly acts in the region,” the statement reads.

Several activists went as a far as accusing the U.S.-backed SDF of orchestrating the assassination of sheikh Mutashar Hammoud al-Havel.

Al-Havel is the third Arab tribal leader to be assassinated in the southeastern Deir Ezzor countryside this week. On July 30, sheikh Suleiman al-Kassar of Al Uqaydat was killed by ISIS. A day later, an attack claimed the life of sheikh Ali Alwis of Al Baggara.

The situation in southeastern Deir Ezzor countryside is slowly spinning out of control. ISIS influence there is increasing. The SDF has failed to secure the region, so far.

Poland’s Defence Minister Announces Additional 1000 US Troops To Permanently Deploy There

The United States will establish a permanent military presence in Poland as it deploys around 1,000 additional U.S. troops there, Poland’s Defence Ministry said on Friday. Whether or not they will be transferred directly from Germany or re-routed remains unclear.

Poland’s political leadership has been eager to host additional US troops in the country for some time. On June 12 last year during a meeting at the White House, US President Donald Trump reached an informal agreement with Polish President Andrzej Duda to send 1,000 more troops to his NATO ally.

But negotiations on the details of where the troops would be stationed and how much Poland would pay have dragged on for years.

“We did it. We have finished the negotiations on military cooperation,” Defence Minister Mariusz Blaszczak said in a statement.

Poland currently hosts a rotating contingent of over 4,000 US troops. A permanent presence, which the statement says will now number at least 5,500 troops, is likely to cost Poland substantially more.

The deal also involves the development of expertise for Polish forces in the areas of reconnaissance and command, with the possibility of more US forces being deployed to Poland in case of an increased threat environment, the statement said.

The financial details of the new deal were not revealed in the ministry’s statement.

Last week the US military provided some more details on its plans to withdraw about 12,000 troops from Germany and had already indicated that some of them could be moved to Poland or the Baltic states.

While Friday’s statement did not specify where the additional 1,000 troops would come from, and whether some would be reassigned from Germany, this is the most likely scenario. Neither Poland’s Defence Ministry nor the US embassy in Poland were prepared to provide additional details..

On other occasions, US officials have insisted that the agreement with Poland and the decision to pull some US troops out of Germany are separate matters. LINK

“American defense leaders said Wednesday that the U.S. will bring about 6,400 troops home and shift about 5,600 to other countries in Europe. The decision fulfills President Donald Trump’s announced desire to withdraw troops from Germany, largely because of what he considers its failure to spend enough on defense.” LINK

In a related development, Defense.one reports that, as part of the reduction of troops in Germany, U.S. Africa Command, which is based in Stuttgart, Germany, will be transferred to another location.

US Africa Command “has been told to plan to move,” its commander said Friday morning, two days after Defense Secretary Esper announced the US military’s Germany drawdown. Said AFRICOM Commander US Army Gen. Stephen Townsend, “While it will likely take several months to develop options, consider locations, and come to a decision, the command has started the process.”

The report comments that from its beginning, there have always been grumblings that AFRICOM should be located in…well…Africa. Or somewhere in the US, similar to how US Central Command, which oversees almost all troops from Turkey to Afghanistan, is based in Tampa, Florida. At the time, there were concerns that locating a major US military command base would break the seal on the unwritten rule against the “militarization of Africa.”
