Pretty sure there was fraud in that election. I live in a very liberal midwest city surrounded by a sea of red. Why is my city blue? Perhaps the Democrats have a little "machine" going.
Oddly, I was doing temp work during the election. I got called into a little room where absentee ballots were being counted after I said I was a Republican. They needed to have Republicans and Democrats to count the ballots. My Democrat "teammate" was really irritated that I wanted to read the votes she was calling to me as I was assigned to write down the votes. Our Republican County Clerk lost that election and the atmosphere in that little room was odd. The official in question seemed anxious/perturbed and the apparently Democrat vote counters were showing a mocking side, clearly disdainful of the candidate who was about to lose his job to the Democrat.
I can't say if fraud occurred in that room, but every institution in this town from the schools, to the library, to the recreation center is apparently liberal/Democrat. I once donated some old copies of Rush Limbaugh's letter to the library book sale and practically watched the volunteer who accepted them tear them up in front of me. Actually had someone basically say you need to hide your views to get hired at the library.
If not for fraud, nearly every voting precinct in America would be red, I believe.
