Radiation shield. YES.
This planet has been pillaged for it's gold since the beginning of time. In the US, at one time, it became illegal for peasants to own gold, remember? Cold coins? They were all taken away... but, people stopped digging gold then. Our masters couldn't get any more unless they dug it themselves. Suddenly, what happened? The great Cali gold rush, right? Everyone was going to Cali to mine gold. Gold was bringing a nice price, as all the elite were buying it up.
Why did they want it? It really had no use at the time. There were no electronics?
Gold was hoarded through out time, ancient Egypt was full of gold and slaves mining for it.
Why? Why was it being hoarded?
Think about our planet anons. It's the only one in the solar system like itself. It has water. Why?
It has animals and plants, no other do. We don't mesh with anything here. Everything else lives in harmony and naturally controls and regenerates itself. We destroy everything, run off all the plants and animals and tear it all down, then reconstruct it in our own means. We are light years ahead of any other species on the planet. Nothing else has evolved into the stone age yet.
We are ALSO the only creature on the planet with 9/10ths of our brains sealed off. Why is that?
Let's think about our planet. A blob of substance in space. Space is a vacuum. What happens to soft objects in a vacuum? They constrict to the smallest possible shape... a sphere. What happens if another sphere, on an eliptical orbit, comes into the solar system and strikes a planet, tearing some of it away... both objects are damaged. One has the technology to repair its atmosphere using gold.
The other attempts to shrink into a smaller sphere, but being in a vacuum, it cannot shrink more, condensation fills the gaps, Earth now has water.... Shall I continue?
