Looks to me, based on the red and brown explosion, that the explosive was at least somewhat underground.
And a big one at that.
You're making a lot of assumptions.
More specifically, if you've ever seen an explosive go off underground, you know it throws the earth high into the air.
You can see large chunks of dirt/clay/whatever debris falling, even in the screenshot I provided.
Most of the smoke wouldn't be visible until after the explosion
You are either misunderstanding the basic concept of my statement, or you're intentionally trying to mislead.
It's dirt/debris in the air. You can clearly see it.
The smoke after the explosion can tell you some info about the material, but that's not what I'm referring to.
