Husband of Nasty Democrat Rep. Debbie Mucarsel-Powell Who Accused AG Barr of Murder, Was Paid $700,000 by Ukranian Oligarch

Of course nearly everything the Democrats do is corrupt, so it comes as no surprise that the husband of one of the loudest and most disgusting House members, Debbie Mucarsel-Powell, was paid over $700,000 by a Ukrainian Oligarch.

This same oligarch is at the center of the FBI’s raids yesterday in Cleveland and Miami.

One of the nastiest House Representative’s in last week’s disgusting lambasting of Attorney General Bill Barr was Florida’s Rep. Debbie Mucarsel-Powell. This representative basically accused President Trump and AG Barr of murder.

Ms. Mucarsel-Powell talked over the AG and never allowed him time to respond to any of her questions or slanderous claims that she made. She basically copied what the other Democrats on the committee did as well.

The Democrats are angry that Barr has a criminal investigation in place, led by US Attorney John Durham, related to the actions surrounding the fraudulent Russia collusion investigation instigated by President Obama and his gangs in his justice and Intel communities. This same gangs then attempted to remove President Trump from office knowing that their entire case was a fraud.

There may be a reason the mean-spirited, obnoxious and disrespectful Rep. Mucarsei-Powell, labeled President Trump and AG Barr as murderers. The Ecuadorian-born Florida Congresswoman wanted to know if AG Barr was going to release the results of John Durham’s investigation. This may be because Ms. Mucarsei-Powell is right in the middle of the investigation.

It turns out that Ms. Mucarsei-Powell’s husband has connections with a Russian oligarch. In December the Federalist reported:

Robert Powell, the husband of Rep. Debbie Mucarsel-Powell, D-Fla., reportedly took $700,000 from a Ukrainian oligarch named Igor Kolomoisky. Mucarsel-Powell sits on the House Judiciary Committee, the committee that drafted two articles of impeachment against President Donald Trump for his alleged abuse of power with regards to Ukraine.

In 2018, the Daily Beast reported that a number of businesses linked to Kolomoisky hired Powell as an attorney. One of those firms paid Powell at least $700,000 over two years, according to public records.

‘No, Sir, you'll be inside’: Britons both dismayed & sarcastic, after discovering their homes may be BULLDOZED to fight Covid-19

If things get really tough with Covid-19, local councils in the UK could order the demolition of coronavirus-contaminated homes. The news, reported this week by the British media, has left many unimpressed.

The Covid-19 pandemic may not be a civilization-ending event, but the British government has definitely given out some Black Death vibes in its response. For example, its strategy to contain the disease suggests some overkill measures, such as destroying working vehicles and entire buildings, readers of the British media have discovered this week.

These possibilities hide in the guide prepared by the British government for local decision-makers on how to tackle the epidemic. Among other things, it references the Public Health (Control of Disease Act) 1984, mentioning that this legislation allows local authorities to seek an order from a magistrate “that a building, conveyance or structure be destroyed.”

First spotted by The Telegraph, the language evokes a vista of bulldozers ready to roll though the living-rooms of Britons in response to a fit of bad coughing, and it didn’t go down well with readers. Some simply called it pure madness. Others suggested that some nefarious renovation scheme under the guise of fighting Covid-19 was in action.

"It raises the possibility that care homes, factories, offices or even private homes could be bulldozed as a last resort"I genuinely thought this was parody. It may well be the least Conservative policy I've ever seen. 😧https://t.co/U3hvUAQNj5

— Calvin Robinson (@calvinrobinson) August 4, 2020

Level buildings, sell the land cheap and build on it with the new relaxed planning regulations. Just a thought.

— Jane Brooks (@janamb) August 4, 2020

Commenters with a propensity for banter (or humor) found more sensible targets for demolition crews. Like the UK’s House of Lords.

How about just bulldozing all of the pubs now? That’ll be a good way to bring cases down.

— Raymond Zhu (@raymondzhu416) August 5, 2020

How about the House of Lords? Things have got so out of control that Claire Fox has been let in.

— Somewhat Mutineerish Person - #ABTV - 48% - #FBPE (@EdwardBedivere) August 4, 2020

Still others predicted a hilarious, ableit grim, picture of how the destruction of coronavirus-ridden property may be effected – with residents inside, just to make sure the infection doesn’t spread.

"Sir you've tested positive for the Rona. For everyone's safety, we are going to have to bulldoze your home.""Can I pack my things before I leave?"" you will be inside the house during demolition. Have a good day"https://t.co/bZMjq7ze5h

— Adam Brimson Designs (@AdamBrimson) August 4, 2020

Of course, there is no indication that heavy construction equipment would be deemed better-suited for decontamination in the UK than, say, bleach and UV lights, anytime soon.

The Boris Johnson government has been criticized throughout the epidemic for their hectic and often-confusing handling of the situation. Critics have blamed it for sending mixed messages, failing to clearly communicate guidelines to the public and otherwise not doing a good job with the virus.

The UK has over 306,000 Covid-19 cases and 46,000 coronavirus-related deaths on record. The country has experienced a slight increase in new daily infections, after a minimum in early July.

Rashida "Impeach The Motherf**ker" Tlaib Defeats Centrist Primary Challenger

The biggest political news of the day is undoubtedly the victory by a formerly homeless BLM activist who triumphed over a longtime Democratic incumbent. But it's also worth noting that "Squad" member Rashida "Impeach the Motherf**ker" Tlaib managed to fend off a primary challenger running from the center.

The AP called the race Wednesday morning, with Tlaib winning 66% of the votes cast, with 87% of precincts reporting. She triumphed over Brenda Jones, a former Congresswoman and Detroit City Council president.

Tlaib was unquestionably the frontrunner going into the vote given her lead in fundraising and a steady lead in the polls. A Target-Insight survey released last month showed the lawmaker with 52% support, while Jones trailed with just 24%.

Interestingly, this isn't the first time Tlaib and Jones have tangled over the seat. Jones defeated Tlaib in a race to fill the seat vacated by John Conyers in 2018. But Jones only served in Congress for a month (finishing out Conyer's term) before Tlaib defeated Jones in a six-way primary, then went on to replace both Conyers and Jones in the seat for the new Congress, which started in 2019.

During those cycles, Tlaib managed to outraise Jones as well.

Before the vote, Tlaib received endorsements from both Bernie Sanders, and from establishment Dems like Nancy Pelosi, who are clearly too fearful of their growing power to repudiate "the Squad" publicly by, say, backing a primary opponent.

Tlaib, whose district, MIchigan's 13th, includes the western half of Detroit, said her victory was evidence that the people support transformative change in Washington.

“Voters sent a clear message that they’re done waiting for transformative change, that they want an unapologetic fighter who will take on the status quo and win," Tlaib said in a statement on Wednesday.

"We have a resounding mandate to put people before profits. Let it be known that in the 13th District, just like in communities across our country, we are done with establishment politics that put corporations first," she continued. "If I was considered the most vulnerable member of the Squad, I think it’s safe to say the Squad is here to stay, and it’s only getting bigger."

"This Is Huge" - Formerly Homeless BLM Activist Defeats Democratic Incumbent In Missouri Primary

In what appears to be a replay of AOC's spectacular primary victory over Queens Democratic Boss Joe Crowley, Cori Bush, a onetime homeless woman and single mother who helped lead protests in Ferguson following the killing of Michael Brown back in 2014, has triumphed over sitting Democratic Rep. William Lacy Clay, the scion of a Missouri political dynasty.

The race was a rematch between the two candidates: Bush narrowly lost to Clay during a similar primary challenge back in 2018. However, it appears the upswell of support for BLM activists in the aftermath of the killing of George Floyd helped energize the Democratic "grass roots", who in turn helped bring Bush over the top.

Despite the COVID-19 outbreak, turnout was higher in Missouri's first district race by 6,000 votes this time around, a factor that clearly helped Bush. Bush defeated Clay with a plurality - 49% of the vote - with all precincts reporting, according to the AP.

In her victory remarks, Bush gleefully lampooned the Democratic establishment for trying to "dismiss the protester".

An emotional Bush, speaking to supporters while wearing a mask, said few people expected her to win.

“They counted us out,” she said. “They called me — I’m just the protester, I’m just the activist with no name, no title and no real money. That’s all they said that I was. But St. Louis showed up today."

Bush’s campaign spokeswoman, Keenan Korth, said voters in the district were “galvanized."

“They’re ready to turn the page on decades of failed leadership,” Korth said.

Bush, 44, also had backing from political action committee Justice Democrats and Fight Corporate Monopolies this election. She campaigned for Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders during his presidential bid.

Bush’s primary win essentially guarantees her a seat in Congress representing the heavily Democratic St. Louis area. Missouri’s 1st Congressional District has been represented by Clay or his father for a half-century. Bill Clay served 32 years before retiring in 2000.

William Lacy Clay, 64, was elected that year.

Clay didn’t face a serious challenger until Bush. This year, he ran on his decades-long record in Congress.

"This election is a simple choice," Clay said in a Monday statement. "Cori Bush’s Empty Rhetoric, or my record of real results and real reforms for the people."

Biden Backs Out Of Milwaukee Convention Over COVID-19 Concerns, Will Accept Nomination From Delaware

It's official: Joe Biden, the oldest (or some might say 'most seasoned'), presidential candidate in the modern history of the Democratic Party - a new kind of 'placeholder' who has already promised to serve just 4 years before gliding off into retirement (which is one reason why the hunt for his VP has become such a closely watched ordeal) - will be spared the traditional prime-time convention speech when he accepts the nomination later this month.

WSJ and a spate of other media outlets are reporting, citing anonymous insiders close to the DNC and Biden campaign, that Joe Biden won't be traveling to Milwaukee to accept the nomination in person after it begins on Aug. 17 (it will run through Aug. 20). And it's not just Biden: On the advice of "health officials working for the party" - according to the NYT - no senior party officials will travel to Milwaukee for the convention, said Joe Solmonese, the chief party hack in charge of the convention.

“While we wish we could move forward with welcoming the world to beautiful Milwaukee in two weeks, we recognize protecting the health of our host community and everyone involved with this convention must be paramount,” said Joe Solmonese, chief executive of the convention.

The decision will essentially transform the convention into an entirely virtual affair, offering little in the way of an economic boost to struggling Milwaukee. That's terrible news for the city's tourism industry.

Democrats are arguing Biden's decision shows that he is taking the pandemic more seriously than President Trump, whom Biden has been guttersniping from the wings while President Trump faces the media and the reality on the ground every day (except when he's playing golf, of course).

But that transparent excuse is almost comical for anybody who has been paying even the slightest attention to the race. Biden can hardly handle a television interview, let alone a major speech.

Now, he'll get to accept the nomination from the comfort of his home state of Delaware. One can't help but wonder: If he did defeat Trump, would Biden govern from the basement, too?

John Pilger: Another Hiroshima is coming – unless we stop it now

When I first went to Hiroshima in 1967, the shadow on the steps was still there. It was an almost perfect impression of a human being at ease: legs splayed, back bent, one hand by her side as she sat waiting for a bank to open.

At a quarter past eight on the morning of August 6, 1945, she and her silhouette were burned into the granite.

I stared at the shadow for an hour or more, then I walked down to the river where the survivors still lived in shanties.

I met a man called Yukio, whose chest was etched with the pattern of the shirt he was wearing when the atomic bomb was dropped.

He described a huge flash over the city, "a bluish light, something like an electrical short," after which wind blew like a tornado and black rain fell. "I was thrown on the ground and noticed only the stalks of my flowers were left. Everything was still and quiet, and when I got up, there were people naked, not saying anything. Some of them had no skin or hair. I was certain I was dead."

Nine years later, I returned to look for him and he was dead from leukaemia.

"No radioactivity in Hiroshima ruin" said The New York Times front page on 13 September, 1945, a classic of planted disinformation. "General Farrell," reported William L. Lawrence, "denied categorically that [the atomic bomb] produced a dangerous, lingering radioactivity." Lawrence received the Pulitzer Prize.

Only one reporter, Wilfred Burchett, an Australian, had braved the perilous journey to Hiroshima in the immediate aftermath of the atomic bombing, in defiance of the Allied occupation authorities, which controlled the "press pack."

"I write this as a warning to the world," reported Burchett in the London Daily Express of September 5, 1945. Sitting in the rubble with his Baby Hermes typewriter, he described hospital wards filled with people with no visible injuries who were dying from what he called "an atomic plague."

US Government And Yale Hold Trials On How Best To "Persuade" Americans To Take COVID-19 Vaccine

IN BRIEF

The Facts: The US government and Yale University collaborate in a clinical trial to determine the best messaging to persuade Americans to take the COVID-19 vaccine.

Reflect On: Why do people need to be persuaded? Is it possible they have a lack of trust in public health recommendations for good reason?

The US Federal government in collaboration with Yale University held clinical trials to determine what the best messaging would be to persuade Americans to take the COVID-19 vaccine when it is ready. The news of this study does show an interest in finding the best way to persuade people into an ideal decision for the Federal government, and likely vaccine makers, and it also shows that a mandatory vaccine campaign may still be the plan B down the road, as opposed to plan A.

The official title of the trial is, “Persuasive Messages for COVID-19 Vaccine Uptake: a Randomized Controlled Trial, Part 1.”

According to the brief summary for trial:

This study tests different messages about vaccinating against COVID-19 once the vaccine becomes available. Participants are randomized to 1 of 12 arms, with one control arm and one baseline arm. We will compare the reported willingness to get a COVID-19 vaccine at 3 and 6 months of it becoming available between the 10 intervention arms to the 2 control arms.

Study participants are recruited online by Lucid, which matches census based sampling in online recruitment.

The study essentially looks at the best possible messaging that can be used on Americans, ranging from expressing vaccine benefits, to using messaging about economic impact, making someone feel guilty or embarrassed for not taking the vaccine, and so on.

The study looked at around 4000 participants aged 18 years and up, all of whom had to be US residents of course.

The various ‘arms’ used in the study when it came to messaging were as follows:

Other: Control message

Other: Baseline message

Other: Personal freedom message

Other: Economic freedom message

Other: Self-interest message

Other: Community interest message

Other: Economic benefit message

Other: Guilt message

Other: Embarrassment message

Other: Anger message

Other: Trust in science message

Other: Not bravery message

Interestingly, the study also looked at various social elements involved in vaccination, see below:

BILLIONAIRE Oprah Winfrey Lectures Poor White People on their “White Privilege”

This takes the cake.

In her latest edition of her AppleTV+ series, “The Oprah Conversation,” the billionaire media tycoon lectured poor white people on their “white privilege.”

The New York Post reported:

Twitter critics have a billion-dollar bone to pick with Oprah Winfrey.

The 66-year-old media mogul has been labeled a hypocritical “fraud” following the latest installment of her AppleTV+ series, “The Oprah Conversation,” featuring former NFL star and race activist Emmanuel Acho.

Acho, 29, who also hosts the web series “Uncomfortable Conversations With a Black Man,” joined Winfrey for a two-part episode, which included a segment inviting non-black viewers to ask difficult questions about racism and white privilege.

“Not all white people have power,” said one guest. “There’s plenty of poor, working-class white people. But I think that when we group all of white people together and we don’t recognize the fact that there’s a lot of white people that struggle, and it’s a different struggle as you mentioned because they’re not streaming upstream let’s call it . . .”

They continued, “I think that if we’re gonna come together and really attack racism and the inequities that are in this country and are in this world, that it’s important not to group all white people.”

Winfrey responded, “There are white people who are not as powerful as the system of white people — the caste system that’s been put in place. But they still, no matter where they are on the rung or ladder of success, they still have their whiteness.”

The veteran broadcaster also said white people have a “leg up.”

“You still have your whiteness. That’s what the term ‘white privilege’ is. It means that whiteness still gives you an advantage, no matter,” she said.

Before and after: Russian space agency satellite images capture shocking destruction caused by Beirut explosion

Never has the trite cliche about a picture painting a thousand words been more true than stunning before-and-after satellite images, snapped by Roscosmos, which capture the utter devastation caused by the Beirut port blast.

The first photograph, which was taken last November, shows a collection of large warehouses on the waterfront of the Lebanese capital. Densely packed buildings can also be seen sprawling down towards the sea, with a warren of tight streets running between the city’s main arteries.

In the shocking fresh photo, snapped by the Russian space agency in the aftermath of Tuesday’s horrific explosion, barely any trace of the warehouses remain.

UK Home Office drops ‘racist’ algorithm for visa applicants after migrants’ rights campaigners launch legal challenge

The UK has agreed to stop using a computer algorithm to help decide visa applications after migrants’ rights campaigners launched a judicial review of the "racist" system, which they say enabled "speedy boarding for white people.”

The UK Home Office has agreed to scrap its “visa streaming” algorithm, in response to a legal challenge by The Joint Council for the Welfare of Immigrants (JCWI) and digital rights group Foxglove.

A letter sent to the campaign groups confirmed that Home Secretary Priti Patel is to suspend the controversial artificial intelligence (AI) system on August 7. A redesign - scheduled to be completed by the autumn - will consider “issues around unconscious bias and the use of nationality” in automated visa applications.

Cotton: ‘The Act of Accepting the Chinese Money — That Should Be Criminalized’

Wednesday on Fox Business Network’s “Mornings with Maria,” Sen. Tom Cotton (R-AR) argued for “criminalizing” those accepting money from the Chinese Communist Party or state-owned enterprises of China, given the Asian superpower is a threat to intellectual property and national security.

Cotton also suggested measured be taken to protect U.S. intellectual property.

“The Chinese Communist Party continues its campaign of intellectual property theft and forced technology transfer,” he said. “It is past time for us to insist this stop. The Trump administration and the president have been doing that in various ways. I’ve got legislation that would take more steps, as well. So, for instance, criminalizing the payment of money to American professors and academics who are on the payroll of the Chinese Communist Party or their state-owned enterprises.”

“Right now, you can only prosecute those cases for things like wire fraud or lying on federal documents,” Cotton continued. “It’s the act of accepting the Chinese money, itself, that should be criminalized. There are other steps we can take, as well, to stand up for American companies that shouldn’t have to transfer their intellectual property to Chinese partners simply as a condition of doing business with Chinese consumers.”

MeTooSTEM Founder Admits To Faking Coronavirus Death Of Popular American Indian Professor Who Never Existed

The founder of MeTooSTEM on Tuesday admitted to fabricating a Twitter account that supposedly belonged to an American Indian professor who later “died” from coronavirus.

Dr. BethAnn McLaughlin, a neuroscientist and former faculty member at Vanderbilt University, had posted a series of tweets Friday eulogizing @Sciencing_Bi, a Hopi Arizona State University (ASU) professor, who McLaughlin said had succumbed to coronavirus.

Although @Sciencing_Bi was a well-known figure on Twitter, some irregularities with their existence soon became apparent and their account along with McLaughin’s was suspended by the social media platform.

“I take full responsibility for my involvement in creating the @sciencing_bi Twitter account,” McLaughlin said in a statement through her lawyer to The New York Times.

“My actions are inexcusable. I apologize without reservation to all the people I hurt.”

The immediate reaction of @Sciencing_Bi’s death was one of sadness and anger.

California State University Northridge biologist Jeremy Yoder, University of New Hampshire cosmologist Chanda Prescod-Weinstein, Johns Hopkins oncologist Tatiana Prowell, University of Maine climate scientist Jacquelyn Gill and University of California, Berkeley professor Michael Eisen reacted with sadness to the news, the Daily Beast reported.

Disaster: ADP Says July Private Payrolls Climbed Just 167,000, Far Lower Than Expected

Businesses in the United States expanded their payrolls by just 167,000 in July, according to a report from payroll processor ADP.

Economists had forecast around 1.9 million, with a range between 750,000 and 3.3 million, according to Econoday. In a sign of the extreme levels of uncertainty around jobs numbers in the pandemic era, economists surveyed by Dow Jones forecast a 1 million jobs gain.

The economic disruption from the coronavirus has made it far more difficult to measure or predict changes in the U.S. labor market. ADP’s recent numbers have been off by millions when compared with the Labor Department’s monthly report on the employment situation. In June, for example, ADP saw private payrolls expanding by 2.369 million a few days before the official report said payrolls expanded by 4.8 million, almost all of which was private sector employment.

“The labor market recovery slowed in the month of July,” said Ahu Yildirmaz, vice president and co-head of the ADP Research Institute. “We have seen the slowdown impact businesses across all sizes and sectors.”

Large businesses, those with over 500 workers, added 129,000, ADP said. Medium-sized businesses with more than 25 but fewer than 500 workers shed 25,000. Smaller businesses added 63,000.

The goods-producing sector added 1,000 jobs, with manufacturing’s addition of 10,000 somewhat offset by a contraction of 8,000 in construction and 1,000 in mining.

The services sector expanded by 166,000 jobs, with professional and business services logging in the strongest growth at 58,000. Financial services, however, shed 18,000 jobs. Information dropped by 1,000.

The June report was revised up to show that businesses added 4.3 million jobs in the month, up from the initial ADP report of 2.4 million. ADP’s revised number is still below the Labor Department’s initial June estimate.

The stock market seemed to largely discount the ADP report Monday, with futures continuing to indicate rising stock prices after the report came out at 8:15 a.m. Tuesday morning. Alternatively, traders may think that bad news on the jobs market could spur Congress to action on a coronavirus release bill, ultimately boosting the economy and justifying higher prices for stocks.

Boris’s EU Withdrawal Agreement May Include £160 Billion In EU Loan Bills

Former Conservative Party leader Sir Iain Duncan Smith has called on the British government to scrap the Brexit Withdrawal Agreement after it was revealed that the United Kingdom could be on the hook for billions in European Union loan payments.

Despite formally leaving the European Union in January, and with the current membership-in-all-but-name “transition period” set to end in December, it has been revealed that the United Kingdom possibly faces £160 billion in loan payments on top of the £39 billion so-called divorce settlement.

The loan payments are reportedly due to Britain’s ties to the European Investment Bank and the European Financial Stability Mechanism, which doles out money to EU member-states throughout the bloc.

Experts have estimated that the 12 per cent liability that Britain is required to pay under the current agreement could be £160 billion, according to The Sun.

This is probably an underestimate, though, as the cost of the loan share will likely rise as a result of Chinese coronavirus bailouts being currently being handed out by Brussels.

Writing on social media, Sir Iain Duncan Smith said: “Whilst the UK wants to have a good trade relationship with the EU as a sovereign state, the EU has different ideas. They want our money, and they want to stop us [from] being a competitor. The Withdrawal Agreement (WA) we signed last year sadly helps them.”

As Trump Mulls Ban on TikTok, Boris Reportedly Set to Approve Global HQ in London

Prime Minister Boris Johnson has reportedly backed the idea of Chinese app TikTok basing its global headquarters in London, as President Donald Trump prepares to ban or force the sale of the app in America.

Amidst growing concern about the Beijing-based short-form video app, the British government risks creating another row with the United States over the issue of Chinese involvement in the United Kingdom by allowing TikTok to establish its global hub in London. The move would come after months of wrangling with the Trump administration over the issue of Huawei involvement in the British 5G network.

On Sunday, The Sun newspaper reported that Boris Johnson’s government has already approved the decision and that the government would announce the arrangement this week.

A spokesman for the Prime Minister told the BBC on Monday that the move would be a “commercial one” but added that Mr Johnson has yet to discuss the matter with President Donald Trump.

President Trump announced on Monday that he would be giving TikTok owner ByteDance the ultimatum to sell the app to Microsoft within 45 days or face a ban from operating in the United States. Microsoft confirmed that it would open acquisition talks with the company, to take over the operations in the United States, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand — but did not mention the United Kingdom.

The Beijing-based company said that the decision by President Trump forced the company to rethink the location of the TikTok headquarters, which was set to be either located in California or New York. The firm said that it has yet to make a final decision, but confirmed to the BBC that London was on the shortlist of possible places.

“In light of the current situation, ByteDance has been evaluating the possibility of establishing TikTok’s headquarters outside of the U.S., to better serve our global users,” the Chinese company said in a statement.

The Conservative MP for Harborough and co-founder of the China Research Group of Tory MPs, Neil O’Brien, called for British intelligence services to investigate the company’s code before greenlighting the move.

“It would be useful for the government to use the kind of specialists in cyber-security that only it has access to, to give us a definitive view of whether the app is safe,” O’Brien said.

Berlin Police: 210 Rapes from March to July, Half of Cases Involve Migrants

ccording to statistics released by police in the German capital of Berlin, the city saw 210 rapes between March and July, an average of two rape cases per day.

The State Police criminal investigation unit, known in Germany as the Kripo, said that cases of serious rape in Berlin are surging, and of the 210 cases reported between March and July at least 50 of the victims were children below the age of 16.

The Kripo also say that around half of the suspects in the rape cases come from a foreign background — far higher than the migrant population of Berlin, which amounts to around 29.9 per cent of the city’s total residents, Focus reports.

Marcel Luthe, a member of the Free Democratic Party (FDP), commented on the statistics, saying: “The far disproportionate proportion of foreign suspects shows that the causes urgently need to be clarified and discussed transparently. And then effective crime prevention must be pursued.”

Berlin has seen a steady rise in reported sex crimes in the last several years, with 2019 seeing 4,809 cases — up 15 per cent form the year prior.

One in five victims is said to be under the age of 21 and over a third of the alleged perpetrators have been from migrant backgrounds.

The release of the statistics comes just weeks after a German court convicted and sentenced a group of migrants in the city of Freiburg for gang-raping a German teen girl over a period of four hours in 2018 after they had drugged her at a local nightclub.

Eight of the men were Syrians, with others coming from Iraq, Afghanistan and one man being a German citizen. They were handed meagre sentences of three to five and a half years in prison.

Since the height of the migrant crisis in 2015, rapes and sex attacks involving migrants have been a major issue in Germany and other countries.

In Sweden, broadcaster SVT revealed in 2018 that migrants were behind 56 per cent of rapes and attempted raped and represented eight-in-ten assault rape cases.

The Russian businessman whose cargo of ammonium nitrate blew up Beirut: Lebanese port officials are put under house arrest after repeated warnings over hazardous chemicals impounded six years ago as astonishing images show it stored at the dock's hangar 12

Lebanon has placed every official responsible for the security of Beirut's port for the last six years under house arrest as it investigates a massive explosion which has devastated the city.

The country's political leaders vowed those responsible for the tragedy would 'pay the price', but customs officials pointed the finger of blame back at them - saying they were repeatedly warned of the danger but failed to act.

It came as an astonishing photo emerged, purporting to show the dock's Warehouse 12 filled with ammonium nitrate - with the highly explosive chemical stored in simple construction sacks with no other protection in place.

The dangerous load is understood to have been abandoned by Russian businessman Igor Grechushkin in September 2013 before eventually being transferred to the port where it remained for six years.

A ship carrying the load was detained en route from Batumi, in the ex-Soviet republic Georgia, to Mozambique, and never recovered.

On Tuesday evening a fire that started in Warehouse 9 ignited 2,750 tons of the chemical - sparking an explosion with three kilotons of force, equivalent to a fifth the size of the Hiroshima nuclear blast.

NYC Gangster Released Without Bond In Attempted Murder Case Participated In 3 Shootings Last Month: Feds

Darrius Sutton, an alleged Brooklyn gang member, was released without bail in May, despite facing an attempted murder charge, and has allegedly been involved in three shootings since his release.

“Sutton, 23, was hauled into court months ago for a May 16 shooting, during which he allegedly shot another man in the courtyard of an East New York building, seriously injuring the victim, according to the feds,” The New York Daily News reported. “Despite charges of attempted murder, criminal possession of a weapon and assault with intent to cause injury, Sutton was released in the state case without bail set, according to court documents.”

Sutton was reportedly set free after the sole witness in the case recanted.

“At the time of arraignment, the sole eyewitness had recanted so we did not have sufficient evidence to keep the defendant in custody,” a spokesman for the DA said in a statement. “The investigation is continuing and we hope other witnesses come forward.”

“Less than two months after being sprung, the purported Bloods gang member allegedly joined others in three drive-by shootings this summer,” The New York Post reported. “The gunplay took place between July 13 and 14 and were just a few of the six shootings in which Sutton participated over the past year, federal prosecutors allege.“The defendant’s violent spree over the last year has left at least seven individuals with gunshot wounds,” federal prosecutors wrote, according to The Post. “That these events did not lead to seven deaths is entirely fortuitous — the videos described above make clear that the defendant shoots to kill.”

Authorities took him into custody last week and he is now being held in federal custody.

Violent crime, in particular shootings, have skyrocketed in New York City this year as law enforcement officials are vilified and calls to “defund the police” have gained traction in the city. The city’s proposed budget would cut $1 billion in funding from the NYPD and a plainclothes anti-crime unit is being eliminated.

Local outlet amNewYork reported:

On Aug. 3, the NYPD released the July 2020 crime stats, which shows that there was 177% increase year-over-year in the number of shooting incidents across the city in July with 244 in total. In July 2019, there were only 88 shootings over the course of the month. The number of shootings increased by 72% year-to-date, with 450 by July 2019 to 772 by July 2020.

According to the statistics, the number of murders throughout the city for the first seven months of the year is also up, jumping from 181 by July 2019 to 235 by July 2020, rising 30% year-over-year. In July 2020 alone there were 54 murders, rising from 34 in July 2019.

“We’re starting to see significant upticks in crime — particularly in violence. And it could get worse,” Police Commissioner Dermot Shea said during a recent press briefing. “You can’t keep people safe without keeping bad, dangerous people off the streets.”Patrick Sharkey, a Princeton sociologist told The Financial Times that “when police step back, it destabilizes communities.”

“I think that’s going on in a number of cities right now,” Sharkey continued. “As violence increases, Americans become more punitive in their attitudes and call for more policing. This aggressive, brute force policing didn’t come out of nowhere.”

Trump Champions National Parks, Signs $3 Billion-a-Year Conservation Law

President Donald Trump on Tuesday signed legislation that will devote nearly $3 billion annually to conservation projects, outdoor recreation and maintenance of national parks and other public lands.

The measure was overwhelmingly approved by Congress.

“There hasn’t been anything like this since Teddy Roosevelt, I suspect,” Trump said.

Supporters say the Great American Outdoors Act is the most significant conservation legislation enacted in nearly half a century.

The law requires full, mandatory funding of the popular Land and Water Conservation Fund and addresses the maintenance backlog facing America’s national parks and public lands.

The law would spend about $900 million a year — double current spending — on the conservation fund and another $1.9 billion per year on improvements at national parks, forests, wildlife refuges and range lands.

Supporters say the legislation will create at least 100,000 jobs, while restoring national parks and repairing trails and forest systems.

The park maintenance backlog has been a problem for decades.

Among the bills’ congressional champions are Republican Sens. Cory Gardner of Colorado and Steve Daines of Montana. Each represents a state where the outdoor economy and tourism at sites such as the Rocky Mountain and Yellowstone national parks play an outsize role.

Ivanka Trump, the president’s daughter and adviser, also supported the legislation.

The legislation’s opponents complain it will not eliminate an estimated $20 billion maintenance backlog on 640 acres of federally owned lands. The legislation authorizes $9.5 billion for maintenance over five years.

The fire affected warehouses used to store manufacturing goods, including wood and leather.

No casualties were reported in the incident.

The fire is the latest in a series of mysterious incidents that rocked Iran last month.

The most serious of which was the fire that broke out at the Natanz nuclear facility which caused significant damage as well as an explosion which occurred east of Tehran near the Parchin military and weapons development base.

Iranian officials have categorically denied reports of “foreign involvement” in the incidents.

‘Peaceful’ Portland BLM-Antifa Protester Charged with Assaulting Fed Officer with Explosive Device

A “peaceful” Antifa-BLM protester was charged after assaulting a US Marshal’s Deputy with an explosive device in the recent Portland leftist riots.

The Justice Department reported:

U.S. Attorney Billy J. Williams announced today that Isaiah Jason Maza, Jr., 18, of Portland, has been charged by criminal complaint with assaulting a federal officer with a dangerous weapon and willfully damaging government property during protests at the Mark O. Hatfield U.S. Courthouse on July 22, 2020.

According to court documents, in the early morning hours of July 22, 2020, a group of individuals gathered in an exterior entryway of the Hatfield Federal Courthouse. Several members of the group, including Maza, began removing plywood attached to the front of the building to protect its damaged glass façade. After the group successfully removed the plywood sheeting, Maza made multiple attempts to kick in the window, struck it with a metal object, and repeatedly pounded on it with what appeared to be a hammer.

Shortly thereafter, a number of people successfully removed the entire wooden structure protecting the courthouse entryway and an unknown individual broke one of the windows. After this breach, Maza walked toward the building carrying a cylindrical object. Maza then appeared to light a fuse connected to the object and place it inside the broken window. A short time later, the object exploded in close proximity to law enforcement officers exiting the building through the broken window. A deputy U.S. Marshal sustained injuries to both his legs as a result of the blast.

On July 31, 2020, deputy U.S. Marshals spotted Maza less than one block from the courthouse. Maza ran from the deputy marshals who pursued him several blocks by foot before catching and arresting him.

Jason Maza was arrested for the dangerous assault.
