TikTok Partners With Far-Left, Foreign-Based ‘Fact Checker’ in Risible ‘Transparency’ Bid
TikTok – the controversial app set to be banned by the Trump administration for its Chinese links – has partnered with Facebook’s proven far-left, foreign-run fact-checker “Lead Stories” in a bid to moderate content related to the 2020 election. Lead Stories is neither independent nor U.S.-based, as revealed by the National Pulse in June. TikTok’s enlistment of the service only serves to bolsters the validity of those suspect of the app’s foreign ties. Specifically, the fact-checking platform outlined that among the “two founders who actually make the editorial decisions” is Maarten Schenk, a Belgian National. Schenk, whose news aggregation service known as “Trendolizer” is the sole source of revenue for Lead Stories, also lists himself as the company’s Chief Technical Officer and Chief Operating Officer. Half of Lead Stories staff have been employed by the left-wing news network CNN, amassing over 100 years of collective experience at the outlet between them. In other words, a foreign national controls the content, technology, and revenue stream for an outlet tasked with monitoring content for the upcoming U.S. presidential election. The staff are overwhelmingly left-wing.
FOLLOW THE MONEY. Also utilized to censor content by Facebook, Lead Stories counts up to a quarter of its staff, including its Chairman and co-founder, as recurring Democratic donors to candidates such as Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama. Per the Federal Election Commission, not a single donation from a Lead Stories board member or employee was pledged to a Republican candidate. Lead Stories Chairman and founder Perry Sanders, has funneled over $10,000 to Democratic political campaigns, including to Hilary Clinton’s 2016 presidential campaign and former President Barack Obama’s 2008 run. Other writers have donated to a plethora of overtly anti-Trump Democratic campaigns and activist groups such as Swing Left, a hard-left political group which proclaims: “2020 is here, and the work defeat Trump and the GOP in November starts NOW.”
ALAN DUKE. Editor-In-Chief and co-founder Alan Duke worked at CNN for nearly 30 years as a reporter and editor. Seven additional individuals at Lead Stories have also worked for the outlet with tenures spanning decades. Upon the first exposé of Lead Stories, Duke called National Pulse Editor-in-Chief Raheem Kassam and threateningly claimed to know where young, female National Pulse staffers lived.
CCPNN. And CNN itself has consorted with the Chinese Communist Party. The network provides “talent, equipment, and internships” as part of a “long history of cooperation” with a “Marxist journalism” school funded and controlled by the Chinese government. The establishment outlet also has an extensive revolving door with China Global Television Network (CGTN), a registered foreign agent in the U.S., seeing past talent proceeding to work for CCP-funded outlet. The incorporation of Lead Stories into TikTok is not the first case of foreign election interference occurring on the app, as users notoriously weaponized the platform to tank a Trump rally. Currently owned by Beijing-based company ByteDance, TikTok has swiped user data which many fear could be obtained by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and has censored content at odds with party-peddled narratives on issues ranging from the Tiananmen Square massacre to Hong Kong protests.

Republican lawsuit aimed at blocking proxy voting in the House thrown out by judge
A judge has dismissed a lawsuit from Republicans aimed at stopping proxy voting in the House of Representatives. House Republicans say proxy voting is unconstitutional, so when the House passed a measure allowing it in May, they decided to challenge the rule change in court. House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy filed his lawsuit on May 26. Judge Rudolph Contreras said the case was beyond his purview, that the matter at hand was purely a legislative function. At this time, it is unclear whether McCarthy plans to appeal the decision.
Democrats say an option is necessary to allow legislating to continue during the coronavirus pandemic. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said, "The dismissal of the House GOP lawsuit is welcome news and hopefully the end of this sad Republican effort to obstruct the House from meeting the needs of the American people during the coronavirus crisis." Republicans have almost wholly rejected the idea of proxy voting. Only one Republican has taken advantage of the allowance since it was instituted.

Pompeo calls for ‘Clean Fortress’ to protect US data from China
The State Department expanded its “Clean Network” program efforts by calling for a “Clean Fortress” to protect information and communications in the United States from foreign countries such as China as the Trump administration contemplates a ban on Chinese-owned ''TikTok. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo made the announcement on Wednesday, building on the Trump administration’s “comprehensive approach to guarding our citizens’ privacy and our companies’ most sensitive information from aggressive intrusions by malign actors, such as the Chinese Communist Party” by adding five new lines of effort, dubbed Clean Carrier, Clean Store, Clean Apps, Clean Cloud, and Clean Cable. '''"Building a Clean Fortress around our citizens’ data will ensure all of our nations’ security,"' Pompeo said.
The Senate's Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations released a report in June detailing how China is focusing on U.S. communications the same way it has targeted education, research, and personal data. The investigation found the Chinese government “exerts control over China’s domestic telecommunications industry and state-owned carriers” while it “engages in cyber and economic espionage efforts against the United States" and "may use telecommunications carriers operating in the United States to further these efforts." Pompeo announced the Clean Path initiative in April, aimed at implementing the 5G Clean Path guidelines outlined in the 2019 National Defense Authorization Act, part of the U.S. effort to protect its fifth-generation wireless systems and other telecommunications from being compromised by Chinese Big Tech firms such as Huawei or by other foreign actors. "The objective is that untrusted IT vendors will have no access to U.S. State Department systems” and that “we will keep doing all we can to keep our critical data and our networks safe from the Chinese Communist Party," Pompeo said.
This week’s announcement builds on that, as Pompeo said that Clean Carrier efforts will ensure that “untrusted” Chinese carriers “are not connected” to U.S. telecom networks due to concerns about national security; Clean Store requirements will aim to “remove untrusted applications from U.S. mobile app stores” because Chinese apps “threaten our privacy, proliferate viruses, and spread propaganda and disinformation”; Cleans Apps guidelines will prevent “untrusted” Chinese smartphone manufacturers from pre-installing or making available for download “trusted apps” on their apps store so as to keep U.S. companies from promoting apps on phones produced by companies such as Huawei, which have been linked to human rights abuses; Clean Cloud efforts will protect personal data and intellectual property from being stored on cloud systems that are “accessible to our foreign adversaries” through Chinese tech firms such as Alibaba, Baidu, and Tencent; and Clean Cable rules will “ensure the undersea cables connecting our country to the global internet are not subverted for intelligence gathering” by China. Pompeo also told reporters that he is joining Attorney General William Barr, Defense Secretary Mark Esper, and acting Secretary of Homeland Security Chad Wolf in “urging” the Federal Communications Commission to “revoke and terminate” the authorizations of China Telecom and three other companies providing services to and from the U.S.

Not sure if this has been noticed before but US Department of State's website..has 3 stars, same comms as Flynn?
Concur..the house may never come together, they are too far apart on ideological sides. Change doesn't come until the turnover by election in the house. Hot Primary's going on right now which will probably eliminate quite a few and replace with new names and voices.
This is the drop I was thinking of earlier. Was just going to post it. Pompeo's statements confirmed it.
