Wrapped up in Love are all the things the good spirit produces, things like patience, kindness, compassion, and generosity.
Wrapped up in hate are all the things the evil spirit produces, things like impatience, unkindness, indifference, and greed.
And if we do some of each, let’s say I’m kind to some and unkind to others, then I’m a hypocrite. And doing some of each leaves a dark spot in an otherwise good nature towards others. Scripture calls it the mark of the beast.
Look at this chart. Expressing the things in the black box will leave a mark. Expressing things in the blue box are the ways of the Lord.
Express those good things towards others and destroy the works of the devil.
“For the Lord will pass through to smite the Egyptians; and when he seeth the blood upon the lintel, and on the two side posts, the Lord will pass over the door, and will not suffer the destroyer to come in unto your houses to smite you.”
