If you block it's vision, it might not get scared so easy.
Maybe throw a large blanket or tarp over the cage?
You could suit up in some trash bags (head to toe, with tape sealing every inch) and try to deal with with it the same as the raccoons.
You could open the trap with a long ass stick too.
Maybe mix the 3 together?
