>who are these middlemen who make "more money than the drug companies" ???

one anon replied to the above "they are hospital owners/boards?"

Mental Health Hospital worker anon here - I can tell you this is absolutely correct

I work with Adolescents mainly, some adults (very sad work, but I try to bring LIGHT to the darkness).

My hospital uses almost entirely Pharmaceutical based "therapy" - the "Providers" (Nurses with an extra degree that allows them to Rx medications, some actual doctors.. mostly women) assess a new patient, say one of my 10 year old patients comes in because his father isn't in the picture & ended up punching a hole in the wall or something & his mother "can't control him" - so they send him to us.

Instead of doing actual "THERAPY" (what I do - talking, playing basketball with him, advice, coping skills, teaching the Kid basic emotional skills, etc) - the doctor will instead Rx them at least 1 or 2 medications before they leave - EVERY PATIENT.

Now, the medicaid patients usually stay with us for 3 days (72 Hr Hold), and then discharged (medicaid doesn't pay that well - and the "providers" & Hospital board members use this hospital to line their pockets - we all know this.

The patients with "Good Insurance" ALWAYS stay longer - even if there is little 'wrong' with them!

One day teen comes in from Aspen.

>REALLY good insurance

He has NOTHING wrong with Him - just a regular teen who listens to Nirvana and had some depression problems, Parents took him in because they were worried because he made a suicidal statement (but it was a joke)

It costs average ~2,000 to stay ONE NIGHT in this facility. Average stay for most voluntary & involuntary admits is ~72 Hours (the true psychotic breaks, people who eat feces, think they're jesus, etc., stay maybe a week or so longer - the ones that really need help, really need medications.

Nirvana Teen was at our hospital for 3 days shy of TWO WEEKS.

I've seen this again and again - so many of us are absolute disgusted when we see this thing happen, and we don't know what to do - the adminstrators are fucking evil & KNOW they are running a racket, and make damn sure the Counselors know we are expendable.

This poor kid, anons - they put him on another Med or Two - he was devastated and all of us could see the "providers" forcing his involuntary admission was making him so much worse.

He had to feign happiness & tells me the meds are making him feel dull - not depressed, but not happy either

> I feel like a dumb, emotionless idiot - but if I tell the Dr that, then they will take me off the med, and keep me for ANOTHER WEEK for "observation" so I'm just going to have to suck it up and taper off this shit when I go home…

I hear this from many patients with "Good Insurance" that the Providers do this to.

I've wished someone Powerful could observe this place - secretly audit what the Administrators are doing and EXPOSE THEM & ROUTE THEM OUT!

They are all filthy rich & sneer at us "subordinates" - even the GREAT Nurses have been shitcanned for "daring" to question the ethics of the Admin & Providers. Makes me sick, but there are no good jobs in my town & the Work I DO for People I think makes a difference

I really pray this EO changes things.
