I looked at standings once and leaders once. Nothing game-related, and I've been a baseball fan all my life since the 60s, except when I quit after the strike, no baseball 94-97 for me. I'll never go back as long as they kneel. My team is the Giants and they havent put a good team on the field for 5 years anyway, so Ive watched hardly at all in recent years.

The over-commericalization of sportsball started in the late 70s and has been ramping up ever since. Now sportsball is really just a highyl-commercialized tv show, with players and even teams moving about freely, completely untethered to the fan base. In the past 6-7 years, 2 Bay Area NFL teams and one basketball team have moved cities, the 49ers after 65 years in SF.
