Anons:

Not fearfagging.. Conversation needs to be addressed:

On 11.4 when shit goes down what are we supposed to do?

Do we defend a particular thing or places?

Do we volunteer in election processes?

What are we supposed to expect?

(I live offgrid and prepped to the hilt, for zombies, outages, and tornadoes, but how does one prepare for election revolt?)

I am HAM operator, a CB would be handy, but requires someone on the other end who may be friend or foe. Plus only 5miles or so reach without linear amp.

Any brand or model would suffice.

Best functionality if you live near a Major trucking road, like interstate.

But remember, whatever you say is being heard by the enemy. So it's not a good organization method.

In an emergency, you can broadcast on any channel without a license. (HAM) without being considered unlawful or rogue use.

(any asshole who reports you for it would be a shitstain on the community)

But: MANY radios are able to be modified easily as removing a jumper diode internally..

If you buy and modify one of them you can have friends/family monitoring the "off ham band" freqs and most ham operators would never scan for you.

For example, weather radio NOAA freqs on 162mhz. You could hit 161mhz and not interfere with NOAA, or marine radio band allocations when nowhere near a body of water.

The modified radios are the only ones I have.

FT-90R by Yaesu is my favorite. Super small and very useful /full power.

Had my stuff for years so I am not familiar with new models.

Another advantage of modified radios:

You can tune into the nearby mcdonalds drive thru and talk thru it or the handy talkies at the local walmart or mall security.

(the radio can normally emulate any of those things if modified)

Of coarse this should only be done if you have a meaningful emergency message.

You should build a list of these frequencies before you need them. "Know your radio surroundings"
