North Korea publicly executes six by firing squad, including four officials
Authorities in the North Korean capital Pyongyang have publicly executed six people, including four party officials, for their involvement in a prostitution ring that sold sex with female students of prestigious performing arts universities, sources in the country told RFA.
The six were executed by firing squad on July 20 in Pyongyang. They were accused of buying sex or pimping in a network of paid trysts between officials and students at a high-end public bathhouse patronized by the city’s elites, the sources said.
According to one source, the execution order may have been given by leader Kim Jong Un, a supporter of the arts and the two universities from which the women were procured.
“I was at the scene of the public execution and saw four Pyongyang party officials and two pimps being executed for organized prostitution,” an official of the Pyongyang municipal judicial agency told RFA Thursday.

Physical delivery on the largest gold futures exchange in the world, the COMEX in New York, has reached all time highs this year. In June more than 170 tonnes were physically delivered (5.5 million ounces). Usually, delivery is “neglectable.” What has changed?
An important change in the global gold market occurred on March 23, 2020. On that day the price of gold futures in New York started drifting higher than the price for spot gold in London. Ever since, the spread has persisted, though it continuously widens and narrows. The ill-fated naval drill, named ‘Prophet Mohammed 14th’ war games after the founder of Islam, went awry when the fake carrier capsized at the wrong place, blocking the approach to Iran’s main port Bandar Abbas. The dummy carrier, made to resemble a Nimitz-class aircraft carrier, was designed to be reusable and was being towed away after the drill when the mishap happened.

Venezuela sentences 2 US mercenaries from ‘Bay of Piglets’ invasion to 20 years in prison
On May 3-4, a group of mercenaries and anti-government militia attempted to land in Venezuela by sea, kidnap President Nicolas Maduro, take control of an airport, and fly him to the United States to face prosecution. The operation failed, eight mercenaries were killed, and several dozen others, including two American nationals, were captured.
US mercenaries Luke Denman and Airan Berry have each been sentenced to twenty years in prison for their roles in ‘Operation Gideon’, the botched May incursion into Venezuela, the country’s Attorney General Tarek William Saab announced late Friday.
According to the official, the two US nationals had admitted to the crimes of conspiracy, association, illicit trafficking of weapons of war and terrorism.
Saab did not provide any additional details, such as where the two men would be serving their sentences, noting only that “the hearing continues for the remaining accused”.
US officials have yet to respond to the news.

'Broke And Unemployed' Hunter Biden Slapped With $450K Tax Lien - Which Was 'Resolved' In Six Days
For a guy claiming to be broke and unemployed in January in order to avoid paying child support, Hunter Biden was able to 'resolve' a $450,000 tax lien in mid-July, just six days after it was issued.
Although Biden claimed that he was broke, he was living in a $12,000-per-month Hollywood Hills rental home and spotted driving a $129,000 Porsche Panamera in Beverly Hills. After a judge ordered Biden to turn over his financial records and travel to Arkansas for a deposition, the former lobbyist agreed to settle the case with Roberts. -Washington Free Beacon
While fighting with his baby mama, an Arkansas stripper, Biden said in a court filing "I attest that I am unemployed and have had no monthly income since May 2019," adding "I currently have significant debts (in part as a result of obligations arising from my divorce which was final in April 2017)."
According to the Washington Free Beacon, "The younger Biden owed $238,562.76 in state income taxes from 2017 and $215,328.16 in state income taxes from 2018, according to records from the District of Columbia’s Office of Tax and Revenue. The District of Columbia filed a $453,890 lien against him on July 9."
Yet, six days later on July 15, Hunter was released from the tax lien, as confirmed to the Beacon by a spokesman for DC's Office of the Chief Financial Officer after the "tax issue was resolved."
Harvey Bezozi, a tax expert who specializes in large-scale tax debt negotiations, said the only way to get a lien released is to pay the settlement in full—often through a payment plan, penalty abatement, or other compromise with the government—or to prove the lien was filed in error. He said liens can take months or years to resolve.
"It drags on," he said. "Six days had to be some kind of expeditious kind of process for this." -Washington Free Beacon
This isn't the first time Hunter has dodged taxes. In 2018, he was slapped with a $112,805 tax lien, which was resolved this March according to the Beacon.
