Imagine if you are a weapons dealer… very dangerous ones.

A buyer doesn't trust you, and doesn't believe your weapons actually work.

Your buyer is unwilling to pay until you are a vetted source.

You can't give them any references because the nature of your business demands secrecy.

How do you show a new client your hardware is not to be doubted, and that you have no problem with causing mass casualties?

You would have to show them.
