WILMINGTON, Del. — Joseph R. Biden Jr. has selected his running mate and is expected to announce his choice on Tuesday afternoon, according to people familiar with the campaign’s discussions. In recent days he had also begun to tell close allies that he had reached a decision, according to people with knowledge of those conversations.

 

Three contenders — Gov. Gretchen Whitmer of Michigan, Senator Tammy Duckworth of Illinois and Representative Karen Bass of California — have been told that they were not selected to be Mr. Biden’s running mate, according to people familiar with the search process.

Not really - that was an earlier announcement today that he had made his pick, but it had not be revealed who the pick was. At that point, some were saying Biden would reveal the name "later in the week" maybe "Wednesday or Thursday" and then the NYT "live" had an update saying it would be today. And then I refreshed my screen at her name appeared.

 

But honestly, I couldn't care less who was first. We all knew it would be her, I'm just having some fun!

Gabbard attacked Harris for having locked up thousands of people for mere marijuana possession and laughing about it when asked whether she had smoked pot herself. The congresswoman piled onto Harris, adding on a reference to her office’s shameful move to keep people locked up to preserve "cheap labor for the state of California."
