Hillary Clinton and Cecile Richards Coordinated Defense of Planned Parenthood After Shocking Videos

According to emails made public by Wikileaks, pro-abortion Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton and Cecile Richards, the CEO of Planned Parenthood, coordinated the defense of the abortion company after shocking videos were released showing it selling the body parts of the board of babies.

According to the Wikileaks emails, Richards and John Podesta, the chairman of Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign, exchanged emails about getting Hillary Clinton to come to the abortion business’ defense. Clinton was one of the first major Democrats to come to the defense of the abortion company after Planned Parenthood was exposed selling aborted baby parts.

After Clinton spoke publicly in defense of Planned Parenthood, Cecile Richards emailed Podesta with a thank you. Podesta responded with an email that made it appear Clinton may have been concerned about the political ramifications of supporting the abortion company during the height of its negative publicity.

After she publicly addressed the videos and defended the group July 23, Planned Parenthood president Cecile Richards sent an email to her campaign chairman John Podesta with the subject line “Thanks.”

“Yup,” Podesta replied. “Took a little convincing. The tapes do hurt.”

Podesta and Richards apparently stayed in touch. A few days before she was called to testify about the tapes before Congress, he shot her an email. “I know you are up to your ass in alligators,” he wrote, “but can you give me a call. Take 5 minutes.”

As LifeNews reported, undercover footage showed Planned Parenthood Federation of America’s Senior Director of Medical Services, Dr. Deborah Nucatola, describing how Planned Parenthood sells the body parts of aborted unborn children and admitting she uses partial-birth abortions to supply intact body parts.

A second shocking video was released showing another top Planned Parenthood official discussing and arranging the sale of body parts of aborted babies.

Instead of condemning the practice of selling aborted baby body parts, Clinton rose to the defense of the beleaguered abortion corporation, saying Planned Parenthood offers “important services.”

Made in China: US Reclassifies Hong Kong Exports Amid Push to Alter Beijing’s WTO Status

Due to US President Donald Trump’s recent executive order revoking Hong Kong’s special status, exports from the special administrative region may be “marked to indicate ‘China’” as their place of origin, according to a new memo issued by US Customs and Border Protection (CBP).

“[In] light of the President's Executive Order on Hong Kong Normalization, issued on July 14, 2020, suspending the application of section 201(a) of the United States-Hong Kong Policy Act of 1992 to the marking statute, section 304 of the Tariff Act of 1930, with respect to imported goods produced in Hong Kong, such goods may no longer be marked to indicate ‘Hong Kong’ as their origin, but must be marked to indicate ‘China,’” the memo summary read.

Though published on August 11, the release noted that the details laid out have been applicable to relevant goods since July 29.

Trump’s executive order came about as a retaliatory measure against Beijing for its passing of the new national security law in Hong Kong, which bans the funding of political groups in the special administrative region by outside financiers, among other things.

“Hong Kong will now be treated the same as mainland China,” Trump said during a July news conference announcing his executive order.

“No special privileges, no special economic treatment, and no export of sensitive technologies.”

The Hong Kong government delivered a statement to the World Trade Organization (WTO) on Tuesday, arguing that the US is sowing “confusion and harming the interests of all parties, including the United States itself,” according to the South China Morning Post.

The government went on to say that the reclassification of Hong Kong exports “reflected the US’ disregard for Hong Kong’s status as a separate member of the WTO” and “may not comply with WTO regulations.”

“If necessary, Hong Kong Special Administrative Region will not rule out taking actions in accordance with WTO rules to safeguard Hong Kong’s interests,” the government warned.

The US president said Monday that Washington has “already put in a request [with the WTO] that China should no longer be declared a developing nation and have advantages over the US.”

“And I told them that a year ago, and I told them that two years ago, and we put it in very powerfully that they should not have advantages over other countries, frankly, and they’re not gonna have any more advantages,” he added, as reported by the New York Post.

Ghislaine Maxwell complains she’s being mistreated in jail because of Epstein’s ‘suicide’, as lawyers want her moved into gen-pop

Accused madam Ghislaine Maxwell has been mistreated in prison because of her partner-in-crime Jeffrey Epstein’s untimely death in custody, her lawyers have complained, asking that she be moved out of solitary confinement.

Arguing that she’s been “treated worse” than other prisoners “as a result of what occurred with Mr Epstein,” Maxwell’s lawyers claimed in a letter sent Monday that the “uniquely onerous conditions” of her imprisonment are preventing her from participating in her own defense.

Maxwell must be released into the general prison population and given increased access to a computer in order to prepare her defense, her lawyers demanded, adding that the government has still not revealed the names of the three victims she allegedly trafficked across state lines for sexual purposes. The 58-year-old socialite was arrested last month and charged with four counts related to the trafficking of young girls and two counts of perjury. While prosecutors have released “nearly 13,000 pages” of documents into evidence, they have not specified the names of the three girls Maxwell supposedly trafficked.

Noting that Epstein “is alleged to have engaged in misconduct with dozens, if not hundreds, of alleged victims,” the attorneys pointed out Maxwell can hardly be expected to guess which ones have accused her of grooming and abusing them between 1994 and 1997.

Her attorneys have apparently succeeded in having her taken off suicide watch, which involved her wearing “special clothing” and being woken by guards several times a night, but they complained she is still subject to multiple cell searches every day, “numerous body scans,” and guards listening in on her phone conversations. These precautions, the lawyers claimed, are purely “a reaction to the circumstances surrounding the pretrial detention and death of Mr Epstein” and thus unjustified, because Maxwell has never been suicidal in her life.

Of course, one might argue that Epstein was never suicidal either, until his still-unexplained “suicide attempt” while imprisoned with burly ex-cop Nicholas Tartaglione, accused of killing and burying four men in his backyard in a drug deal gone bad. Less than a month after that incident, the wealthy predator was dead of an apparent suicide, while the guards tasked with checking on him slept at their desks and falsified their records.

Unlike Epstein, who expired under those dubious circumstances in Manhattan’s Metropolitan Correctional Center, Maxwell is being held in Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Center. Neither is known for the salubriousness of its accommodation, and acclimatizing to her new environment has no doubt been difficult for Maxwell, whose trial is set to begin in 11 months. She is unlikely to garner sympathy from the dozens of victims who have come forward to accuse her of trafficking them as young girls to Epstein and other powerful men, however.

Former San Francisco Mayor Willie Brown admitted this week to an extramarital affair with Kamala Harris.

Brown also admitted to giving Harris her first state jobs.

In a short article in the San Francisco Chronicle Brown admitted to the extra-marital affair and to appointing Harris to two state commissions.

Yes, we dated. It was more than 20 years ago. Yes, I may have influenced her career by appointing her to two state commissions when I was Assembly speaker.

And I certainly helped with her first race for district attorney in San Francisco. I have also helped the careers of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Gov. Gavin Newsom, Sen. Dianne Feinstein and a host of other politicians.

The San Francisco Weekly reported on Kamala’s affair with Willie Brown in 2003.

If she can just get out from under this damn Willie Brown thing.

Harris routinely tries to distance herself from her ex-squeeze, whom she hates even talking about. The mere mention of their former liaison makes her shoulders tense, her hands clench, and her eyes narrow.

“I refuse,” she says vehemently, “to design my campaign around criticizing Willie Brown for the sake of appearing to be independent when I have no doubt that I am independent of him — and that he would probably right now express some fright about the fact that he cannot control me.

“His career is over; I will be alive and kicking for the next 40 years. I do not owe him a thing.”

She acknowledges that Brown is an “albatross hanging around my neck” and fears that voters who dislike him will ignore her candidacy — even as she dismisses such an act as irrational. “Would it make sense if you are a Martian coming to Earth that the litmus test for public office is where a candidate is in their relationship to Willie Brown?” Harris asks. “Willie Brown is not going to be around. He’s gone — hello people, move on. If there is corruption, it will be prosecuted. It’s a no-brainer, but let’s please move on.”

Would that politics were so simple.

San Francisco voters tend to have long memories, and Brown himself is complicating Harris’ attempts to shed him politically. He personally gave $500 to her campaign, and a political consultant who worked on both of his mayoral runs is raising money for Harris — without her consent — using a pitch letter signed by Brown. Harris denies asking the mayor for fund-raising help and knows it gives her antagonists even more ammunition.

She also knows there’s not much she can do about it, except to keep saying that the affair is ancient history and that she is a good candidate with good ideas. But as Harris well understands, the more she tries to explain away the Willie factor, the bigger a factor he becomes.

Taiwan Sends 200 Marines To Contested Island In The South China Sea

Taiwan is reported to have sent around 200 marines to the Pratas Islands, located in the South China Sea in an area claimed by both Taiwan and China. The move appears to be related to concerns that China is planning a major maritime military exercise later this month, which would include a simulated takeover of Taiwanese-controlled islets.

It is anticipated that the scheduled military exercises, to be carried out by the PLA’s Southern Theatre Command, would be on an unprecedented scale and would involve large numbers of marines, landing ships, hovercraft, and helicopters. There is a possibility that they will be joined by China’s aircraft carriers during an extended deployment on a course that would send them close to Taiwan’s shores, first revealed by a report by Kyodo news agency in Japan on 12 May, and subsequently confirmed by Chinese officials. In the same week the US Navy posted pictures of one of its warships sailing through the sensitive Taiwan Strait for the sixth time this year.

Taiwan News picked up the reports that China is planning on deploying two aircraft carriers in waters near Taiwan as part of its war games scheduled for August to rehearse for a future assault on the Taiwan-controlled Dongsha Islands.

News.com.au had reported that for the first time, both of China’s aircraft carriers, the Liaoning and Shandong, are being deployed together in Bohai Bay in the Yellow Sea to conduct combat readiness drills. The People’s Liberation Army Navy (PLAN) carriers were said to be engaged in the second week of an 11-week simulated military confrontation that would later extend into the South China Sea.

The South China Morning Post subsequently cited a military source as saying that an aircraft carrier strike group will pass through the Pratas Islands (Dongsha Islands) on its way to the exercise site to the southeast of Taiwan in the Philippine Sea.

The Pratas Islands, consisting of one island, two coral reefs, and two banks, is located about 445km (275 miles) from Taiwan’s southern port city of Kaohsiung and just over 300km from the Chinese mainland.

The area has been designated a national park because of its coral reefs and seagrass bed ecosystem and has no permanent civilian residents, only a coastguard garrison of roughly the same size as the detachment of marines sent to reinforce them. The island does not appear to have significant defensive positions, so the deployment is little more than a symbolic gesture.

Taiwan’s defence ministry declined to confirm the Kyodo report, but Chief of Joint Operations Lin Wen-huang emphasised in May that the military would continue to strengthen combat readiness and ensure proper preparations on Taiwan’s outlying islands, including the Pratas Islands and Taiping Island.

Explosion Hits U.S. Equipment Convoy, Iraq And Kuwait Deny It Happened Despite Video

On the evening of August 10th, an explosion reportedly targeted a convoy carrying equipment for US forces near the Iraq-Kuwait border, Reuters reported.

It was not immediately clear if there were any U.S. troops in the convoy or if anyone had been injured in the explosion.

The Iraqi military entirely denied that an explosion took place.

Kuwait’s Armed Forces on Twitter denied the attack on one of the outposts on its northern border with Iraq, affirming that boarders are stable and secure.

Initially, Reuters claimed, an unnamed security source had said that the explosion was caused by an Iraqi Shi’ite Muslim militia targeting a U.S. military base near the crossing by smuggling in an explosive device, and that some staff on the base had been injured.

This was later contradicted by other security sources who said a convoy was attacked, not a base.

The Iraqi Shiite armed group group, called Ashab al-Kahf, issued a statement overnight claiming it destroyed “equipment and vehicles belonging to the American enemy” in a bombing targeting a border crossing south of the Iraqi city of Basra.

The group later published an 11-second video clip it claimed showed the blast, according to the SITE Intelligence Group, which monitors armed groups.

The SITE Intelligence Group has referred to Ashab al-Kahf as “reportedly an Iranian proxy unit.” The group initially threatened U.S. forces in April and claimed an attack on a convoy in July in Iraq’s Salaheddin province.

The out-of-focus video shows what appeared to be an explosion and lights in the distance, with a man speaking in Arabic.

Guardian investigation finds the Facebook communities are gaining followers as Twitter cracks down on QAnon content

New and established QAnon groups on Facebook are growing at a rapid pace and helping to spread the baseless and dangerous conspiracy theory to new countries around the world, a Guardian investigation has found.

The Guardian has documented more than 170 QAnon groups, pages and accounts across Facebook and Instagram with more than 4.5 million aggregate followers. The Guardian has also documented dedicated communities for QAnon followers in at least 15 countries on Facebook.

The growth in the QAnon Facebook communities has come as rival social media platform Twitter undertook a broad crackdown on content and accounts dedicated to the conspiracy theory, citing the movement’s “clear and well-documented informational, physical, societal and psychological offline harm”.

At the time of Twitter’s crackdown, anonymous sources told the New York Times that Facebook was planning to take “similar steps” at some point this month. In the meantime, Facebook’s recommendation algorithm has continued to promote QAnon groups to users and some groups have experienced explosive growth.

QAnon is a baseless internet conspiracy theory whose followers believe that Donald Trump is waging a secret war against a “deep state” cabal of Democrats and Hollywood celebrities engaging in pedophilia and sex trafficking. The theory evolved from the 2016 “pizzagate” conspiracy theory and has grown to have real-world political impact. Numerous QAnon adherents are running for elected office as Republicans; the FBI has identified QAnon as a potential domestic terrorism threat.

In late June, the Guardian reported that the QAnon community on Facebook included more than 100 Facebook pages, profiles, groups and Instagram accounts with at least 1,000 followers or members each. The largest of those groups had more than 150,000 followers or members, and overall the accounts, groups and pages counted more than 3 million aggregate followers or members.

As of Sunday 9 August, the aggregate following of those previously documented groups, pages and accounts had grown by 34% to over 4m. The largest groups have grown to include more than 200,000 members.

The Guardian also documented an additional 73 groups and pages dedicated to QAnon with at least 1,000 followers or members each. Many of those 73 groups are brand new – founded in May 2020 or later – and they have already amassed an aggregate following of more than 560,000 people.

These newer groups and pages also demonstrate the spread of QAnon around the world. They include groups dedicated to QAnon followers in the United Kingdom, Northern Ireland, Canada, Australia, Mexico, Brazil, Germany, Poland, the Netherlands, Bulgaria, Hungary, the Czech Republic, Romania, Serbia and Slovenia. The largest international QAnon groups documented by the Guardian were German, Italian, Polish, Dutch, Australian and British.
