Monday's severe storms across Iowa hit the Grassleys hard.
Sat pics show the amount of damage straight line winds of 100+ mph did to the corn crops.

If so, it's top secret stuff so not like any diggs are waiting to happen regarding this.
A derecho of that magnitude happens roughly once a decade so not totally unheard of.
But, like you say, the timing for those 2 events happening in the same summer is certainly spoopy.
