If they compromise and alter the cultural associations of the phrase "Nineteen Eighty-Four" they can make the public forget about its original meaning, and substitute it for whatever garbage agenda they're pushing. If they make think the youth believe it refers only to their favorite mindless entertainment they won't bother to look for the book.
