Consider who benefits the most from the controversy of Trump supporters being banned. The left gains little. POTUS gains more a pissed off and motivated voting public.

That's right. POTUS knows all the buttons to push and when to push them. I think part of what keeps him going is that he knows the outcome is determined and he can have fun exposing these people for what they are.
