He's going with the theory that Clinesmith can't be guilty if Page wasn't really a CIA source???
I think he's just playing to the potential jury now, giving them a glimmer of doubt.
Unless CIA admits Page was a source in public, which they rarely do.
It's a poison pill strategy.
