New Enterprise Associates (NEA) is an American-based venture capital firm. NEA focuses investment stages ranging from seed stage through growth stage across an array of industry sectors. With over $20 billion in assets under management, NEA was the world's largest venture capital firm in 2007. The firm is headquartered in Menlo Park, California, and Washington, D.C., and has additional offices in Baltimore, Bangalore, Beijing, Boston, Mumbai, New York City, San Francisco and Shanghai. NEA was founded in 1977 by C. Richard (Dick) Kramlich, Chuck Newhall and Frank Bonsal.

In 2012, NEA closed its fourteenth investment fund with $2.6 billion of investor capital. In April 2015, NEA closed its fifteenth investment fund with $3.1 billion in investor capital - the largest venture capital fund ever raised. In June 2017, NEA closed its sixteenth investment fund with $3.3 billion in investor capital - again the largest venture capital fund ever raised. In 2018, former CEO of General Electric, Jeff Immelt, joined the firm as a venture partner.

Forest joined NEA in 1999 as a Venture Partner and became a General Partner in 2004. Forest focuses on information technology investments and serves on the Board of Directors for several private and public companies. Some of his investments that became public companies are Atheros Communications, Audience, Data Domain, Fusion-io and Tableau Software. Prior to NEA, Forest was Senior Vice President of R&D and Chief Technology Officer of Silicon Graphics Inc. He founded and directed the Western Research Laboratory of Digital Equipment Corporation before joining SGI. Prior to that, he was a Professor of Computer Science and Electrical Engineering at Stanford University. Dr. Baskett received a BA in Mathematics from Rice University, a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Texas at Austin and is a member of the National Academy of Engineering.

Scott D Sandell

Scott Sandell is the Managing General Partner of NEA. Since joining the firm in 1996, Scott has led investments in many industry-transforming technology companies including Data Domain, Salesforce.com, Tableau Software, WebEx and Workday, and is among the most frequently named venture capitalists to the Forbes Midas List. Scott is currently the lead independent director of Cloudflare (NYSE: NET) and a director of Bloom Energy (NYSE: BE). Scott also serves on the boards of a number of private companies including Branch, Coursera, Divvy, Expanse, Hello Alfred, One Concern, Robinhood and Transfix. He also remains actively involved with the National Venture Capital Association (NVCA), where he served as Chairman of the Board from 2014-2015.
